CHICAGO ? (AP) ? Cincinnati center fielder Ken Griffey Jr. left Wednesday's game against the Chicago Cubs in the fourth inning because of stiffness in the back of his right knee.

Griffey walked in the first inning and struck out in the fourth against Greg Maddux. Griffey was replaced in center by Ryan Freel in the bottom of the fourth.

Griffey, whose previous six seasons with the Reds have been marred by injuries, hit his 538th career homer in Tuesday's game.

griffey injured...what a surprise.

stfu.

He will probably play at the latest Saturday and was available to pinch hit today. That was what you call overracting to Junior being sore, which is understandable.

I was at the game, and it was nothing serious. He is day to day and will be fine.

Hopefully. He's getting softer and softer.

Umm ok? Played in his most games in like 4 years last year. Didn't play again today, but was on deck to pinch hit in the 9th.

I'm thinking he will start Saturday.
