Ramp
*anti jinx/no jinx at all* to get to 90-72 Florida 7-6 Phil 8-4 L.A. 10-4 Chi 11-1 We are in great shape because we really don't have to do anything unrealistic in the last 2 weeks. If we split our 6 games with Philly I think it's over. Cubs are not really in wildcard contention. Dodgers still have a chance for sure, and of course Philly controls their own destiny if they can take 4, 5 or all 6 from us. But it really makes you appreciate how difficult it is to make up even 2 games in the standings. thoughts?
CapeFish
It is just as easy to lose the playoff spot as it for them to gain it. We need to contiune to win and everything else will follow. NO MORE BLOWN GAMES LIKE SUNDAY!
#1 FishFan
I count the Cubs out of this race, the realistic contenders are the Marlins,Phillies and Dodgers. We totally "own" the Phillies....We have had the most success off of the Phillies this season more then any other team (There was a piece about this on BBTN the numbers were very impressive.)The Phillies are also not playing very well as of now anyway.....The Dodgers won't be having a chance to gain games on us,because chances are that we will be pummeling the Phillies. BIG Z
yea the cubs will take the central.
CapeFish
There is nothing certain about us and the Phillies. At the moment, this race is a toss up. We must play to win every game and no game can be taken for granted. It will come down to who wants it the most, so far the Marlins want it more than the Phillies, but we must kick the dog while it is down so it cannot get back up in time to win the race. JMLinkinPark
yea the cubs will take the central. Nah, The Astros Will :mischief . all the NL teams will be the same as in 97. and same 1st round matchups. :thumbup
AJBurnett34
We just need to do good against the Phillies this series. Then we have to the mets in the final homestand. They should be easy and its a plus if we can sweep them again.

All we have to do is keep playing like we have been (sans yesterday) and we'll be alright.
Wild Card
I'm pretty damn sure we will be in the playoffs. What's the Phillies remaining scheduale?
miami15
If we don't make the playoffs I'll f***ing jump off the Rickenbacker Causeway!!! We have to go 7-6 so that would be 2 wins against the Mets, 3 against the Phillies, and 2 against the Braves! The way we have been playing, it won't be too hard! miami15
ATL better try on the last week of the year! But, if we take care of business (4 out of 6), we'll be okay!

miami15
But then again, if ATL gets swept by Philly, all we have to do is complete the impossible by sweeping the Mets at home to maintain our ground!
flasportsfan88
i predict 4 against phillie, 3 against ny, and 2 against atlanta 92-70 same as 1997, and the same playoff scanario :thumbup

Marlins2003
You can cut the cake any way you want but it just boils down to one day at a time, one game at a time.
miami15
Marlins 2003! You area absolutley correct! They can't gain 2 games on us in 1 day (unless Isabel hits Philly)
