April 25, 200620 yr Rookie manager with a rookie squad that embellished with some mediocre veteran........it's all the same with a expanded team,so how could we to make excessive demands for our expanded team have a season of near .500 record ? ? ?check the history record of expanded team modern times was average at 50~60 win,we are just under this pace.............so don't be so surprised with these "ugly" loss, because no matter how many run we lead we will always loss those game in every kind of way.......it's just the "rule" and the "fate" of a expanded team...................................................................................................................................................
April 25, 200620 yr no offense but these are all excuses...just cause we're young and inexperience, yes, like an expansion team...that doesnt mean we are SUPPOSED to lose... A 3-0 lead in the 8th with the Cubs having had only one hit up to that point...that should equal a win... Because according to your thinking here's how it should go... Girardi walks to the mound and his entire infield comes over to hear his words of advice: "Hey guys, can you believe we actually have a 3-0 lead over Da Cubs? Hell, we even teased a no-hitter for 6 innings! We clearly surpassed all expectations...but unfortunately, we've done a little too much...a team like us is supposed to lose...so I'm gonna bring in Herges, then Johnson and we're gonna make sure we blow this lead up...get it? Got it? Good! Now let's make it Uggla!" :plain

April 25, 200620 yr I think Girardi blew the game on purpose b/c of his affinity with the city of Chicago
April 25, 200620 yr Oh GOD, it's called an expansion team AND, if I thought we sucked I would say it with no shame (WE DON'T!!), but the matter of truth is our starters have been pitching great games, we have scored a great amount of runs, all we NEED is a better bullpen, and ofcourse a little improvement on the defensive side, that's all. I expect this squad to make a BIG turn-around after the All-Star break! I feel it!
April 25, 200620 yr You have to give kudos to JP last night. He started the rally that unsettled Herges. If JP grounds out to Uggla the inning likely goes nowhere.
