No. He will be one of the best CF in baseball by 2009-10. He's everything you want in a player. He's right up there with the kids in Arizona.

I don't have any stats to back em up, but it just seems like he's not going to be anything unbelievable when he gets up.

Remember the Marlins could have had him but they went with Petit instead. Says something.

Willis is going to be traded to the mets in a deal that brings milledge back to the marlins. Our gaping hole is in CF and the mets need starting pitching with two starters going on the DL early.

I understand we need a CF'er but I really hope we don't trade Dontrelle. I rather have the Marlins trade some minor league guys for him. Trading him is going to be a big slap in the face for Marlins fans.

:goodpost

Anyone else think Milledge is terribly overrated? He may become a solid player, but I don't see multiple all stars for him (especially if he doesn't play in New York, where the media won't be pushing him down people's throats). I could see him becoming a nice Cliff Floyd, Carl Everrett, Rondell White type player. I think Moises Alou would be his top side.

Are we 100% sure he is going to be? I don't want to trade Dontrelle and then we get some dude who is going to be average kwim?.

when are you ever 100% sure on a prospect?

yea... it says we are cheap

You can play the Jeremy Reed or Dallas McPherson card with any top prospect, but I think Milledge is as sure a thing as it comes. I'm not saying trade Dontrelle for him, but I'd be shocked if he's not really good.

:plain it says we where only after pitching propects

Too bad Minaya is general manger. He isn't as desperate and stupid as his predecessors.

Though, if the Mets can trade away Scott Kazmir for V. Zambrano (I think Moehler would be better suited for the Mets anyway), anything can happen.

The only way Milledge leaves the Mets system is if Barry Zito is the guy on the other end of the deal. He can be brought back to Cy Young form with his old pitching coach, Rick Peterson.
