CardsJimEdmonds15
Lidge temporarily loses opportunity for saves May 12, 2006 CBS SportsLine.com wire reports HOUSTON -- Astros closer Brad Lidge will probably not be used in save situations for the next couple of games as he makes adjustments that manager Phil Garner hopes will be a remedy for his recent struggles. Garner told Lidge of the decision Friday before Houston's game against the Colorado Rockies. "I want to hopefully get this over with as soon as possible so I can get back to closing games," Lidge said. Lidge has had trouble locating his pitches this season and almost squandered a three-run lead in the ninth inning Thursday night before being replaced by Dan Wheeler with the bases loaded and two outs. Wheeler retired Kenny Lofton to preserve a 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. [More in URL]
Das Texan
good. he needs this demotion to remember what got him where he is. he isnt locating the fastball well and relying way too much for the slider. hitters are laying off it and waiting for the fastball when he is behind in the count and forced to throw in the zone. not difficult really. Mets_bs
Wow, I didn't realize how bad he was pitching this year. I guess the Mark hWolers Effect claims another victim.
orlumeca
His career is going down the toilet 100 mph. Damn he got messed up last year. ERA over 6.00 this guy blows.
Ralph
He'll be alright. In a week or two he'll be the elite closer he has been the past 2 years.
CardsJimEdmonds15
I'm sure he'll be fine.. In other news.. Pujols just hit his 19th HR and now has 46 RBI's..
prinmemito
i hope pujols breaks barry's single season homerun record this year. i think everyone would be happy if he did because he's clean and such a good guy.

Dodge
Pujols is awesome, easily one of my favorite players in the game. I have a friend that looks exactly like him, too. :lol

People still pitch to that guy, but don't to Bonds. Incredible. Absolutely incredible. And it has cost the Reds 1st place in the divison. God I wish people would stop pitching to him. That entire lineup outside of him and Rolen is crap.

LF Rodriguez: .411 AVG, 0 HR, 6 RBI, 12 Runs (Finally found a 2 hitter that is getting on base for Albert.. .429 AVG -15/35- and .450 OBP from here) 3. 1B Pujols: .341 AVG, 19 HR, 47 RBI, 39 Runs 4. CF Edmonds: .257 AVG, 5 HR, 27 RBI, 18 Runs (Edmonds had a dreadful April but in May he's hitting .353 with 1 HR and 8 RBI) 5. 3B Rolen: .309 AVG, 4 HR, 18 RBI, 15 Runs (Rolen is still coming off sickness where he lost 8 lbs. He's hitting .300 with a HR and 5 RBI's this month..) 6. RF Encarnacion: .222 AVG, 5 HR, 14 RBI, 21 Runs 7. C Molina: .171 AVG, 0 HR, 9 RBI, 5 Runs 8. 2B Miles: .318 AVG, 0 HR, 6 RBI, 13 Runs It's easier said than done to start walking Pujols when Edmonds is heating up and making them pay when they walk him now.. still would you take the chance with runners on 1st and 2nd for Pujols, or load them up for Edmonds with no outs? Junior
The lineup is garbage outside of Rolen and Pujols. Am I going to pitch to the .340 guy with 20 homers and 50 rbis or the .257 guy with 5 homers and 27 rbis? It's not that hard.

CardsJimEdmonds15
o ok..i saw one game where he was and it made me wonder.. No he has like a couple times this year when Rolen was out.. it may actually help if he were in the lineup today.. getting like no hit by Miguel Batista f'n sucks.. well a crappy infield hit broke it up but still.. LOL this thread went from Lidge to the Cards.. didnt really want it to :lol
