Lefty
I actually thought it was a pretty good movie. Nice little action thriller; lots of death which is always cool. The storyline was a bit unbelievable, but once you get past that--it was well scripted and directed. Amazingly, it was only about a 1.5 hours--felt like a lot longer. Anyway, I'd give it a 7/10 overall.
MiRi
So, is it better than the original?

Admin
I just know I've read and hear alot of reviews and the words "garbage" and "unwatchable" was in about all of them. I hope the reviews are wrong, as I really wanted to see this.
Buckeye
Yeah, on Rotten Tomatoes (not that--that's the be all, end all of seeing a movie) the reviews are pretty skewed towards rotten. 141 reviews 99 rotten Wolfgang Peterson is usually a pretty good director of these kinds of movies, too. I wasn't that intrigued by the trailer, myself.
Lefty
It wasn't as much of a blockbuster as I expected. BUt it's still very enjoyable. I find that most of the time, I disagree with the average critic. But that's just me. People expecting a Titanic-like monster of a movie would be disappointed. But if you want a non-stop, action-packed movie, this is it. It's not deep; it's not sophisticated. It is what it is--a thriller about a boat under water. Guest Fritz
Movie looked stupid as hell. I'd rather watch a hippopotamus have sex with a donkey.

MarlinFan10
The movie does look kinda stupid from the previews. A boat gets hit by a big wave and goes upside go boom. Not a whole lot of creativity.

I thought the same thing (still do, really). But the action and story of the film is good overall I thought. It helped that it was a star-studded cast, at the very least. And a few unknowns did a good job as well.
FutureGM
The previews did not encourage me at all, and then I read several really bad reviews. Plus, I didn't like the casting of the movie. I'm just going to save my money for The Da Vinci Code this weekend, and X-Men 3 next weekend.
Fishfan79
you know if you are in a boat unside down, cant you just swim out of the bottom instead of trying to climb to the top to get out?
Lefty
you know if you are in a boat unside down, cant you just swim out of the bottom instead of trying to climb to the top to get out? A) suction wouldn't allow it B) the 'bottom' would be way too far under water to even attempt. And you don't even know what's above you when you get to the surface. C) that kinda stuff only happens in 'Deep Blue Sea'
EndLine
Saw it and enjoyed it. I guess I don't agree with the average critic either.
