Posted May 21, 200618 yr Kerry Wood might miss his scheduled start Tuesday with soreness in his shoulder. If we take the Cubs' word for it, Wood apparently hasn't had a significant setback. It's just that he's going to need more than four days in between starts. He might be pushed back to the weekend. "It's possible," pitching coach Rothschild said. "But we'll have to see. It may not be even that (long). It may be quicker than that. He may be ready to go, so we'll see." The Cubs may bring Glendon Rusch out of the pen to start. rotoworld :lol
May 22, 200618 yr Yeah I was hoping to see Wood aswell down here. It doesn't sound serious but then again with Wood anything is possible. It does make sense they don't want to rush him into his next start. For the sake of his career I hope everything is ok.
May 22, 200618 yr Kerry Wood tested his arm on Monday and pronounced himself ready to go on Tuesday. "He wants to go [Tuesday]," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said. "It's a good sign for him and us. He was a little cranky after his last start, but right now he's a go." He'll be OK to use for one week anyway. May 23, 200618 yr In a move that will almost certainly end badly, the Cubs rescinded their original statement that Kerry Wood would miss his Tuesday start against the Marlins because of shoulder soreness. After Wood threw without additional problems Monday the team has decided to let him make the start after all. Apparently the Cubs haven?t learned anything from their past mistakes, because they?re certainly not playing it safe with Wood this time around. Even if there?s one ounce of risk involved in starting him?and there certainly is if they were scared enough to scratch him initially?why in the world would Chicago take it in the middle of May? You?ll want to keep Wood in your fantasy lineup, if only because you need to get all the value you can out of him before his next DL stint. rotoworld.com.
May 23, 200618 yr Kerry Wood is about as overrated as they get. He had that 20K game years ago and the media still drools over this guy like Darryl Strawberry circa 1990.
May 23, 200618 yr now thats hes starting u gotta jump on him early while hes still trying to adjust to this season after being on the DL for so long.
