well mitre should be back soon and besides his one bad start verses the cards hes been solid. Do you think if olsen struggles tomorrow hell lose the spot to mitre?

I doubt it and Olsen will have a good start tomorrow anyways. :)

No one should lose a rotation spot to mitre. Stick him in the pen and use him sparringly.

Olsen just needs to go longer, if anyone is still on jeopardy its Moehler who has still been a little on and off even though he is pitching much better now

Did Mitre sleep with your mom or something?

No. Just not fond of untalented pitchers who give you 0 chance to win.

So I guess when you throw a 1 hitter against a Major League team you have no talent right?

Even a turd smells good every now and then.

You'd know about that wouldn't you....

Seems likely. He's going to have to look pretty good tomorrow.

Not sure what you mean by that but yes I have smelled crap before. Everyone has. Most of the time it smells bad. Sometimes good. Heck, sometimes you can get mushrooms from it and turn a profit. Or so I have heard.

But, per your reference, it was an analogy. Mitre is not composed of feces. He just pitches like it.

I have no idea what type of crap ur smelling, but it never smells good. And mitre is doing better than mohler and olsen IMO

I have never met a good smelling turd.

Well, it never smells good. But work at a dairy farm...you get used to it, to the point where you wont even notice you smell like it when you go to enjoy a beer with your pals afterwards.

I got kicked in the face with a crap covered hoof and couldnt smell it. Felt the kick though.

Dude I live in the country. I have been doing jobs that involve doing things on a farm since I was little.

I'm gonna do everyone a favor and revert to the original topic. Considering that Mitre hasn't pitched that poorly, and Olsen has had several very rough starts, it is conceivable that Olsen could go the the pen or even AAA if he pitches poorly again. He has just been too inconsistent thus, although he has had some good games. With the ability some of these young arms have shown, Mitre probably won't be in the rotation here forever. I just don't see him losing his spot right now just because he was injured while others are struggling mightily.

It is hard to say. I think it may come down to who between the Moleman and Olsen gets blown out of a game right before Mitre comes off the DL. If both get blown out, Olsen will probably get sent down to AAA again. If Moehler gets blown out and Olsen pitches well, Moehler goes to the bullpen and Wellemeyer is sent down to AAA. If both pitch well, Moehler probably has the edge but it is hard to say. In any scenario, I think Mitre gets his spot back in the rotation.

I think the key here is that olsen can be sent down and benefit from more work whereas we don't have the same flexibility with Moehler. He has pitched well his last two starts and if he keeps a reasonable level of paly we won't remove him because we have no options for him and he loses all value if we don't start him. If nothing else he can be traded at the dealine for a b level prospect if he performs well.

May as well keep Moe in the rotation while he is hot, I think Olsen may be sent to the pen, with Pinto going down to carry on starting, thus maintaining a lefty presence in the pen. At the deadline, could get a couple of prospects for Moe if he performs, seems like the going rate for an ERA of 5 at the deadline.

What about Olsen as the closer?

He definitely has the stuff and mentality. He could come in and scare the heck out of people for an inning plus he is a big time lefty arm which is scary too.

thoughts?

I'm not a Mitre fan either. Olsen has the better upside.
