Manager Jack McKeon has changed his tune about his relievers, and now says that situations will dictate how Ugueth Urbina and Braden Looper are used in the final week.

''We'll go whatever we think is the best matchup,'' McKeon said Sunday. It's not out of the realm of possibility that Chad Fox could even enter the mix in a tight game. Source: Palm Beach Post

*Basically a candy coated way of saying UU/Fox will get chances in save situations?

*Big thumbs up to the FO on taking a chance on Fox...he was an enormous pickup thats taken the place of Spooney coming back.

Loop is defintely a valuable reliever, but his K ratios arn't to pleasing to the eye. I'd go with UU/Fox in the most important situations.

Good, now all these arguments about how Looper shouldn't be the closer can end. Great, very good soloution.

omg, I actually agree with everyone who has posted so far. aaaggh! :lol

yipee.

Personally I think McKeon has done the right thing for the last few months. Managers must show confidence in their players, even in rough periods. He is doing the same thing with Enc right now. #1, there is no one that much better and #2, the team has gotten to this point with these players.....

however, in light of recent subpar performances of Looper , others and being politically correct, McKeon has told everyone that their roles may change and he expects to win this as a team. If Lowell comes back, dont be surprised to see Conine in RF

I wouldnt mind seeing 9ner in there over Enc...the guy has no idea that a strike zone exists and swings at so many first pitches....hes certainly no Vlad. Probably one of the most overrated Marlins and one of the worst everyday RF's in the game.

thers no way that the worst everyday right fielder has 89 ribbies 17 homers and no errors, are you kidding me, and one of the best breaking ball hitters in the game he has a gun in right, . I'm the only one who disagrees with that post?

Hes 7th in the mlb in ribbies as a right fielder, 8th in hits 4th in stolen bases 6th in doubls, 4th in triples, 17th in homers,

the only thing i can find bad about him is gis BA which is 267... doesnt look like the worst right fielder in the game to me. :confused

We use different stats to rate players...its just my opinion. Would you take 9ner or Enc in RF?

Not only does he have a mediocre batting average, but he never walks. He also had the 2nd most ABs. His range is medium and he misjudges plenty of balls (a few glaring cases)...Cant argue against the arm.

lok for your self, just admit you were wrong saying enc is the worst everyday right fielder in the league

I said "one of"...and by the stats I use to rate offensive players hes one of the worst everyday RF's in the game. And you already know I dont count RBIs as more important than OPS, OBP, SLG, HR, etc, etc, so whats that supposed to prove to me?

you can misjudge alot of balls and not have one error, and he gets to alot of balls and makes alot of diving catches, and he has done just fine at the plate,

and no one is vlad

Enc is a better Cf than right fielder. I think we should put Pierre in LF, Enc in CF, and Conine in RF while Lowell is still out.

LF is alot easier to play than RF, especially at the PRO....

and why move Pierre out of CF at home? he covers so much ground

the only think important is driving in runs or scoring them

The arm kills JP, enc is just at good in cf and has the arm.

can Enc cover the same ground as JP?

doubt it.

I would rather have DLee up than Enc. Saw Marlins play a lot this year and Enc seems like a selfish player. Perception is a problem...with me. Appears that he doesnt hustle on every play (ala Pierre or Pudge), lack of patience at the plate and other non favorable attributes. Give me Conine any day.

he did with cinci and the tigers before

not like JP can... i dont buy it

Sh-t...be d--n surprised...you must not have any idea what you are talking about.

There is no way McKeon will put a guy that just joined the team (who has had less part in its success) over a guy that has been solid all year, smacked 17 out, along with the RBIs, solid BA, SBs, AND no errors.

Your crazy, Conine isn't going to RF.

We are more likely to see him take over Cabs, which is also not happening.

McKeon is about having fun, unlike Bowa.

I remember the cardinals did this when Pujols had a bummed elbow.

and i say we do this with JP.

Whenever a ball is hit to JP in CF and runners in scoring position that might take advantage of JP's under average arm. We have Enc. Or Conine, jog over there on contact and JP flips them the ball to throw in to try to nail the runners who might advance.

I remember the cardinals did that when Edmonds used to run over and Pujols flipped him the ball and he fired it back in to the cutoff man.

suggestions?
