ctmalrinsfan: Hey D-Train! Thanks for taking my question on my 19th birthday! What was your initial reaction when you found out that guys like Jose Castillo and Juan Pierre wouldn't be back this year?

:banghead How did they post this stupid question? ct"marlinsfan"... it's Luis, not Jose.

OMG no... you didnt just do that. :lol .

bigchim: Mr. Willis, I am a sophomore pitcher who wants to pitch in the Majors someday. What advice can you give me about increasing velocity and just becoming a great pitcher?

Willis: Keep working hard, and believe in yourself -- anything's possible.

pwned.

"Base_Ball_2: Do you play fantasy baseball?

Willis: No, I play real baseball. But it feels like it's a fantasy."

:lol

Some of those questions were so pointless...

Dawntrel fan 12: what's your favorite team?

(note...dramatization)

I try to sign up but they ban me as soon I got on. I wonder it had to do with my name.

Some good question would had been why he super kick to pitch, or why he chose to be a LHP. But you got to give Willis credit for posting such plain responds. :plain

Its just something fun. If you look at other players chats they are all like that. People want to know things about players that you cant find just by looking at a website.

Also, they took my second part off of the question. I have a feeling that the computer read Castillo as Jose and since there is only one Pierre, well, Juan

Its that most were obvious answer.

Marlins ace Dontrelle Willis fielded questions from fans during an online chat Tuesday. Willis, 24, talked about his accomplishments on the field, his favorite offseason activity, the best thing about being a Major League pitcher and commented on trade rumors.

Dontrelle Willis: Hi everyone. Thanks for joining me today. Hope you have some good questions for me.

ajnrules: What has been the biggest thrill in your career?

Willis: Winning the World Series in 2003. Really?

ctmalrinsfan: Hey D-Train! Thanks for taking my question on my 19th birthday! What was your initial reaction when you found out that guys like Jose Castillo and Juan Pierre wouldn't be back this year?

Willis: I was upset. Those guys are some of my good friends. But I understand there's a business aspect to the game. Happy Birthday! No he threw a party

schacisa: What is most important to you -- Rookie of the Year, the World Series ring, or would you rather have won a Cy Young Award for the most wins in the Majors last year?

Willis: The World Series is by far the biggest, because it's a team accomplishment. I'll let this one slide

amanda_short: How did you enjoy your time with the Kane County Cougars?

Willis: I loved it there. It's a beautiful ballpark. Very good atmosphere. I liked the fans there. I don't see anyone saying anything negative ever unless it is something fustrating. So you should had seen this post coming

theray13: What's it like to be in the World Series?

Willis: It was the biggest thrill being on the biggest stage. Especially being in New York at Yankee Stadium with all that history there. It was incredible. theray, please don't ask any obvious question again

dan_jenicek: Realistically, do you think the Marlins can end the season at least a game above .500 or even .500?

Willis: Most definitely. I like the way we've been playing of late. I think we're starting to develop into our own. If he say no, I gurantee you he'll be traded in about 3 days with such negative attitude like me

lazerjackmck: What do you think of Dan Uggla and Hanley Ramirez?

Willis: They've both been great. They are the future of the organization. Dan is a gritty player and Hanley has a ton of ability. I like having them behind me. More positive post, spill us the truth Willis, there had to be time you felt a little fustrated that your infield can't turn a double play. But I guess I believe you 100% on this one, your the "I blame everything to myself" type

schacisa: Josh Johnson won Rookie of the Month in May. Did you do anything to help him keep winning?

Willis: No, that was all him. He's doing OK without my help! Probably only decent info from Willis

Max_Kraft: Why did you choose to wear No. 35?

Willis: Because that's the number they gave me. :banghead

Brandon_Mitchell: Who was your biggest role model as a child?

Willis: Dave Stewart from the Oakland A's, because he was an African-American pitcher in the area where I grew up. I have nothing to say here

Adminsw: You are good friends with Juan Pierre. Is the locker room any less fun or enjoyable for you since his departure?

Willis: No, because I talk to him now more on the phone. Here some funny stuff, good job Willis

schacisa: What do you think about being the second oldest starter in the rotation at 24 years old?

Willis: I feel like I'm 24 years old. It's no different if I'm the oldest or youngest. No one cares about age, when you're out on the field. Willis and poster are making a comeback, good moral Willis :thumbup

chickenfoot: What team do you dream of pitching with?

Willis: The Marlins, of course. I know for a fact that was a lie, trying to keep your fan base happy huh Willis, or is it Loria doing the responding?

crjr2131: What was it like to play in the World Baseball Classic?

Willis: The Classic was a great experience, to be able to play with some of the greatest baseball players in the world and to be around guys like Roger Clemens and Derek Jeter. pointless question

theray13: What do you say about the bad start to the season?

Willis: I stunk. But I'm a lot better now. Atliest he was being honest with his "I blame everything to myself". But many of us know this already

mtodisco27: Who is your favorite Miami Heat player?

Willis: Shaq, because he's the Diesel. Have nothing to say here neither

Scott_Kraft: What is the best part about being a Major League pitcher?

Willis: You work once a week. Sometimes twice. Atiest he was funny, 2/5 points for Willis?

ruu: How do you feel about all the hype on a near-trade involving you?

Willis: It doesn't bother me. Thats exactly what it is -- hype. I can only go out and worry about doing my job. :plain

nunnally: What is your favorite offseason activity?

Willis: Ping-Pong. It improves hand-eye coordination. :plain

bigchim: Mr. Willis, I am a sophomore pitcher who wants to pitch in the Majors someday. What advice can you give me about increasing velocity and just becoming a great pitcher?

Willis: Keep working hard, and believe in yourself -- anything's possible. I'm sure there is a secret code in this post that you must solve to find the secret of increasing your velocity

atlbravesfan2005: At what age did you start to play baseball and who was your favorite team?

Willis: I started playing when I was 10. The Oakland A's were my favorite team. :plain

Suzanne_Rayson: Who is the toughest hitter for you to get out?

Willis: David Eckstein of the Cardinals. He doesn't try to do too much, and takes what you give him. Ya, a smart post by Suzanne! :cool

06marinersfan: Do you like video games?

Willis: I like them, but I'm no good at them. :banghead :banghead

brendan_bechthold: Was it hard to make it into the Major Leagues?

Willis: Heck yeah it was hard! Obvious answer but atliest the way he respond, it just say how much more obvious the answer was going to be

aimster84: How is Hanley feeling after that nasty spill he took in San Diego?

Willis: He should be OK. He got some rest on the long flight back, and we'll see how he is today. Yes, some decent question to get the straight fact

Base_Ball_2: Do you play fantasy baseball?

Willis: No, I play real baseball. But it feels like it's a fantasy. Way to go Willis saying how dumb that question was without saying it straight and bring some laughter at the same time

ajnrules: What sort of things do you do in your free time?

Willis: I like to go out to eat! Houston's is my favorite. Loria, is that you? I know that you! That answer was just too obvious!

txfish: What adjustments have you made in the last couple of starts, since you have been pitching lights out?

Willis: No adjustments at all. They just started hitting the ball at people. That's the game. Loria, let Willis reply his own question

brandon_crockett_2: Did you ever play against Jimmy Rollins when you guys were in high school or Little League?

Willis: No, because he's older than me by four classes. But we played basketball together. :thumbup for the guy who posted the question

dolfanlen: Now that you have a World Series ring, what other accomplishments do wish to achieve during your baseball career?

Willis: To stay healthy and pitch for as long as I can. The ring was the biggest thing -- I'd like to get some more. :plain

aimster84: How do you stay focused on the mound when an opposing crowd boos you?

Willis: I try to play better, so they boo me even more. Hehe, one of your above avg respond

gatorownage: What's something that not many people would know about you?

Willis: They don't know for a reason! Honestly, I'm a pretty open guy. Loria, let Willis type his own answer

Willis: OK everyone. I have to get dressed for batting practice. Thanks, take it easy

But your not even pitching, oh well

ctmalrinsfan: Hey D-Train!

I will say it again! I asked a 2 part question and they edited it to say JOSE CASTILLO and they took part 2 off the question...It must have been Loria's doing!
