Lineup and Rotation

Featured Replies

When Willingham returns on Friday, this is what are lineup will look like....

LINEUP

1) Hanley Ramirez-SS .268, 3 HR, 20 RBI

2) Dan Uggla-2B .314, 12 HR, 42 RBI

3) Mike Jacobs-1B .273, 10 HR, 37 RBI

4) Miguel Cabrera-3B .342, 10 HR, 45 RBI

5) Josh Willingham-LF .267, 9 HR, 34 RBI

6) Jeremy Hermida-CF .263, 2 HR, 8 RBI

7) Cody Ross-RF .293, 4 HR, 17 RBI

8) Miguel Olivo-C .277, 5 HR, 22 RBI

ROTATION

1- Dontrelle Willis (3-6) 4.39 ERA (92.1 IP, 100 H, 30 BB, 50 K)

2- Josh Johnson (6-4) 2.01 ERA (67 IP, 53 H, 32 BB, 59 K)

3- Ricky Nolasco (5-3) 3.06 ERA (53 IP, 56 H, 16 BB, 41 K)

4- Scott Olsen (6-3) 4.70 ERA (67 IP, 60 H, 29 BB, 59 K)

5- Brian Moehler (5-5) 6.29 ERA (73 IP, 97 H, 22 BB, 33 K)

Analysis: A big reason as to why the Fish need to go out and trade for a CF is because Ross and Hermida can not play CF very well. An OF of say Willingham, Carlos Quentin, and Hermida would be awesome.

Starting pitching staff has been amazing. Who would have thought nearing the all star break that Willis would have our worst record??? He has pitched ok but 100 hits in 92 IP/only 50 K's....he needs to step it up! Only change I can see maybe after the all star break would be Anabel Sanchez becoming our #5 starter for Moehler.....Moehler is on a hot streak right now, but if everyone knows his career stats, then you can expect him to revert to his old ways.

That sure is a pretty lineup, now just imagine if we can fill in that CF spot with a young, talented hitter like a Chris Young, Elijah Dukes, or Carl Crawford (dreams), or even a Denorfia.

I still think Hermida will settle into being our regular # 2 hitter by the end of the year, but why mess around with whats working right now ?

How about a 2007 lineup of -

1. Ramirez

2. Hermida

3. Chris Young

4. Cabrera

5. Uggla

6. Jacobs

7. Willingham

8. Olivo/Treanor.

Rotation -

1. Dontrelle Willis

2. Josh Johnson

3. Ricky Nolasco

4. Scott Olsen

5. Anibel Sanchez

That is pure talent with no gaping holes.

Why would you move Jake when he is hitting .409 since he was put in the 3 hole?

It was just something quick I threw out for 2007, but I don't like the idea of back-to-back left handed hitters.

yeah, moving jake is stupid... he was hitting like .200 when he wasnt in the 3 hole. and theres no reason to move Uggla. if we do get a new CF, put him first in the lineup and move Hanley down the lineup

1. CF

2. Uggla

3. Jake

4. Cabs

5. Willy

6. Hermida

7. Hanley

8. C

the problem i see is that we have too many rbi producers(great problem to have...i mean imo as hanley fills out a little bit more he will become a bigger rbi producer.....same with hermida and uggl has already shown that he should be in a position to drive in runs but right now he is thriving ion the 2 hole.... are future looks really good

Why would you move a guy who is on pace for 50 stolen bases and despite how bad his slump has been lately still has a .341 OBP from the leadoff spot ?

Hanley should stay in the leadoff spot...if you watch his ABs...they are pretty. He always works pitchers to a 2-2 or 3-2 count. I really like his patience and future.

Has there been anything from the team to say that Hermida will be in CF when Willingham comes back? I was wondering about that his morning and I think it would make sense. I like what I've seen from Cody Ross and he deserves to be in there. Just wondering if Girardi is thinking the same way, or if we'll see Ross back on the bench with Amezaga and Abercrombie sharing time out there...

I remember Joe saying Jeremy is going to be our RF'er but once in awhile we will see him in CF.

Hermida isn't really the prototypical CFer and Ross, Abercrombie, and Amezaga are just bench players on contending teams. I think we will go out and trade for a good young CF prospect if we're in contention....at least that's what the rumors are saying.
