Minnesota Twins @ Houston Astros

VS.

Francisco Liriano (6-1, 2.16 ERA) | Roger Clemens (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

Scouting Report:

Liriano continued to ease his way through yet another lineup on Friday in Pittsburgh. The 22-year-old sensation recorded a career-high eleven strikeouts in holding the Pirates to just two runs over six innings. And he again left the opposition astounded. "Nasty as I've ever seen," said Pirates first baseman Sean Casey. The left-hander is now averaging more than ten strikeouts per nine innings and has notched wins in five of his last six decisions.

The much anticipated return of the seven-time Cy Young Award winner is finally here as Clemens makes his first appearance in a Major League game since he faced the Chicago White Sox in the World Series last fall. Clemens, who leads all active Major Leaguers with 341 career victories, is 23-12 with a 3.01 lifetime ERA vs. Minnesota.

To say I'm hyped is an understatement. The return of one of my favorite players of all time (Clemens) versus one of if not my favorite young pitcher in the league in Francisco Liriano.
