Celtics needed a PG, but I think they could have got a better one at #7. Dee Brown will be a better pro the Telfair will be, and Dee probably won't go until late 1st/ early 2nd.
June 28, 200620 yr Dee Brown will not be a better player then Telfair. Brown doesn't have anywhere close to the handle Telfair has and Brown is inconsistent from outside.

Dee was a solid shooter his Junior year when he had more then 1 decent player around him. Not to mention Brown is twice the defender Telfair is. I don't get why the Celtics traded the number 7 pick for a guy that got picked 15th (I think), and hasn't done anything in his career.

June 28, 200620 yr In a normal year, Telfair isn't worth anything close to a 7th pick. This is not a normal year. Looking at past drafts, I don't see how this can possibly be worse than the 2000 draft. Good God, that thing was awful. I'm not sure there's even one player of any real significance in the whole thing. Kenyon Martin or Morris Peterson are about as close as you're gonna get. Maybe Darius Miles. Maybe Desmond Mason. But seriously, the 5 best players from that draft would probably be the worst starting 5 in the league.
June 28, 200620 yr I'm hoping I don't hear the Heat's name called at all because I'm worried that they will trade Wright or Simien for Diaz or someone else who's equally lame. Both Wright and Simien have potential to be decent starters in this league, and Wright's ceiling is much higher than that. He could, in a best case scenario, become an All-Star. I don't see Diaz being a decent starter.

June 29, 200620 yr That was an excellent trade for the Blazers. Foye will be a much better player then Telfair, IMO. I thought Portland has this pick.... They do. Battier going to Houston, number 8 pick (which will be Gay) going to Memphis.
