DAMMIT JACK WHAT IS UP WITH YOU RIGHT NOW!?!

although Brad still looks very strong, 127 pitches is stupid

Hutton & Kasper were discussing how TJ wanted to stretch both Beckett & Penny in their respective starts. I guess it has something to do with getting them ready for the post-season.

Let's hope there is a method to his madness.

:hat

I don't know what they're trying to accomplish by leaving them in after their pitch count is already over 110.

Regardless, great outing for Penny.

yea well he stretched them out.... and if that was the plan, i guess i shouldnt go against it....

real pitchers can throw 120 +

especially in teh playoffs.

I would not have a problem with it if we weren't up by 6 runs in each game. I just don't think it's worth the risk.

they will have to pitch this much in the playoffs.

penny was throwing 98 in the 8th inn. u need to let the kids get a long game once in a while. today & yesterday was big lead so it waas ok.

it would have been a nice time to put Loop in

They need to get him as much work as possible in the Mets series.

Very good pitching by Penny. He threw alot of Fastballs and was throwing heat. He reached 98 in the 8th inning and he threw some Curveballs also. Not a bad Performance but the pitch count was a little high. He could of pitched into the 7th and then in the 8th Loop comes and 9th Helling.

i understand that but why not take him out?

give him a standing O from the crowd and throw Looper or Bump or Tejera or Olsen or Phelps in there

well our bullpen is a bit overworked. maybe mckeon wanted to use them for as few innings as possible. he may have given up that homerun towards the end but it didnt make any difference at all. The only problem i have with leaving a pitcher in too long is they can get hurt, especially penny who was hurt already. very good job tonite though.

jack = Old Skool,

back in the day if you didnt finish the game you didnt pitch well, Jack is trying to make these boys tough and cover up the only weaknes of the team ( bridge to the 9th ) It may not be right but thats the way it is.

for once I agree with you Das, I would love fot the fish to have 3 HORSES for years to come but if not this season will have to do.

that's really the only weakness i see in beckett's game (& this applies to Penny also), that he wants to make perfect pitches every time & nibble & strike everyone out. Instead just trusting his stuff, making them hit the ball & keeping the pitch count down. I think McKeon would really like to be able to use these guys late into games & not have to start warming up the pen in the 6th inning because Josh or Penny is already at 100 pitches....

A guy like Jason Schmidt has no problems pitching a complete game.

Just curious...who do you think will not make the 25 man roster?
