July 16, 200620 yr Hermida's wife called Chris Resop and advised that she got an alert from the Marlins that Petit has gone downa nd that Resop has been recalled once again
July 16, 200620 yr great news on both parts Petit needs to stop being jerked around by the team and let him start and welcome back Chris.... one more thing... Hermida is married?

July 16, 200620 yr Hopefully Chris will hang around for a while. There isn't a double header for a few weeks and it makes a lot more sense to have Resop in the mlb pen than Petit.
July 16, 200620 yr Good news. I mentioned in today's game thread that the Marlins need to do this very thing. As it stands, Resop automatically moves up in the bullpen pitching order ahead of Vargas. He could easily move ahead of Herges soon as well. If the Borowski trade rumors prove to be true, Resop will have might have a chance at being the setup man before the season is over if Girardi turns Kensing into the Marlin's closer.
July 16, 200620 yr Hopefully they let Petit stay down and get regular starts in till the end of the AAA season. Looks like Vargas will be our long relief guy for a little while at least now, and as I think thats his long term future, i'm happy with that too
July 16, 200620 yr love to see pettit as a 6th starter, I think at the end of the year to not wear down the arms too much for the youngins. if we move Borowski or Herges in a trade give a chance for Tank to become the closer, resop to slide into the middle relief and vargas a lefty specialist.
July 17, 200620 yr I find it hard to believe that Vargas has just become so ineffective. He was supposed to be a big part of the rotation this year, and now people dont even want him as a mop up guy?

July 17, 200620 yr This yo-yo isn't fair for Yusmeiro. Hopefully something'll be figured out for him.

Yep, he has been ineffective this year. As for what he was supposed to be, it was only on these boards that I saw him mentioned many times as Mr. #2. Who knows what the FO thought at season's start. Probably a more let's wait and see approach, like with all the other pitchers except Dontrelle.
July 17, 200620 yr Definitely, Petit will be Marlin' future starter, Not a Reliever. He need a more training right now, so I agreed Marlins sent him back to AAA.

One was a comparison of him and Anthony Reyes as prospects and the writer believe Petit would be more succesful.
