Resop to AAA

Chris is headed back to lovely Albuquerque once again...he has alot of frequent flier miles with this trip...makes it # 3....Oh yea he is a real happy camper right now...enough so that my conversation was about 2 seconds

Ya...bad outing coupled with immediate shipment to New Mexico can't be good on the attitude...

He'll be back though, and I'm sure he knows it. This entire game was just one big mess-up, I wouldn't put any blame squarely on him.

People say momentum isn't real, but sometimes (and in games like this) it's quite obviously a factor. All our pitchers were off, and their hitters were just building off each other.

It was a team loss.

Im sure he'll keep his head up.

One thing for sure. We lose tonight and tommorow and we are dead in the water.

Your telling me he didn't know he was going down?

seems that way wouldn't it

Well seeing how his career ERA is close to 6 he should have expected it knowing that Moehler was coming off the DL no matter what after the first game

Ya, such an extensive career, and quite a sample size to base that on...

What a brilliant assessment. His ERA on the season was in the 2s going into today, that's all that matters. Just because Nolan Ryan's career ERA is 3.19 doesn't mean he would make a 25 man roster today.

Ok, lets see if this assessment is a little more brilliant for you...

The man can't crack a spot in a group of middle relievers thats in the bottom 25% in the major leagues in hits allowed, ERA, and blown saves/least amount of holds. If you can't prove something in what...5 trips to the big club, then you deserve to stay in Albuquerque

:lol Whatever you say.

Most of his trips have been very short stays where he hasn't gotten much work at all and last year his ERA was inflated by 1 or 2 bad outings 1 of which was in a terrible downpour IIRC. He's shown he can pitch in the bigs, not sure what games you've been watching.

its a shame...Resop is a good reliever, but he knows sacrifices have to be made...plus, he might be happy...he gets to use his frequent flyer miles to go to Hawaii this winter ;)

I guaran-damn-tee you that if Chris got 10-15 consecutive (as in NOT being sent down) appearances, his ERA would look great.

I am not a Resop basher or anything, he is no worse than Messenger or Kensing, but there just has to be a reason why he can't stay up here for more than a week at a time and the 8th inning home run brothers are continuously thrown into the mix

you have a real good grasp of the game of baseball :thumbup

All I'm saying is that you guys are all so high on the guy...what has he done??

There is no reason for me to believe that Resop can compete on the major league level

how about the fact he is in the big leagues after being a pitcher for all of 2.5 years?...

or the fact that before today's outing his era was in the low 2s... or that even after today's outing it was in the mid 3s?

After only 1 1/2 yrs pitching he was called up the bigs...now after 2 1/2 he has been up 3 times...the first time down the Marlins needed a 5th starter....the next time down was a dbl header and Petit was called for long relief and this time Pinto was called for long relief for another dbl header....since you are the king of knowledge about how good players are supposed to be at age 23 maybe you should try out next season and see if you can cut the 25 man roster....everyone can handle negative posts but most of yours have no basis....can't wait to read the response...

So what are you saying, he's not ready to be a major leaguer?

If he's not ready, then he should not be brought up everytime we need some guy to eat some innings and be all pissy fit when he gets sent down after getting hit around

Im not saying he'll never be good enough to contribute to a Major League bullpen (I'm sure he will), but I just think he's too inexperienced in professional baseball to be thrust into the majors

:banghead

Well, he's young and has a career ahead of him, but considering he's got a WHIP of 1.85 (and 1.67 prior to this appearance), I can't say I have any real issues with the move.

He'll be back up soon enough.

No I am not saying that he is not MLB ready....nor is he all "pissy fitted" about going down...no one likes to have meet with the manager and he tells you that you are being sent south....is he inexperienced at the MLB level...probably but the only way you get better is to be thrown into the mix and learn the mental game...keeping the eyes open..mouth shut...and ears open....the tools are there...now comes the finesse portion of the game as well as the mental part....I will agree with the 8th inning HR derby though...that does have to stop...but again these are pitchers who have not had any experience at the big league level and need that experience day after day that teaches them what and how to pitch.....PEACE OUT

Hey guys, I love Chris Resop

Got his autograph when I was sitting near the bullpen earlier this season

id assume he is going to get called back up really soon..

with moehler probably moving to the bullpen, I really doubt they will keep pinto as well after tonight, which means they might bring resop back up
