September 4, 200620 yr Brian Moehler.....we have the deepest minor league talent in baseball and you start Brian Moehler 2 games out of the playoffs. We have Petit, Pinto, Bostick, Nolasco....anybody but this loser. His good pitching out of the pen was just plain luck. His career stats are about 100 IP, 200 hits allowed.....worst call ever.
September 4, 200620 yr Moe has been doing a great job out of the pen. He deserved a shot but it didnt work out.
September 4, 200620 yr and if petit/pinto had struggled in the first inning, you'd be saying the same thing. we should of gotten out of that inning before anything had happened.
September 4, 200620 yr Author Moe has been doing a great job out of the pen. He deserved a shot but it didnt work out. No. He didn't deserve a shot. Do you look at career stats? He is not a good pitcher at all. and if petit/pinto had struggled in the first inning, you'd be saying the same thing. we should of gotten out of that inning before anything had happened. oh please....enough Our minor league pitchers have 10x the talent Moe has. We have won with rookies all year....why change that especially if they have more talent?
September 4, 200620 yr I really dont mind the call.... Moehler should have gotten out of the first with no damage, but the defense was asleep At this point, a veteran was the good call in the heat of a playoff race Let's see: Nolasco-hurt, Petit-pitched yesterday, Bostick-ha!, Pinto-wild as hell

What are Moehler's career stats again? Veteran or rookie who cares....it hasn't mattered all season. Point is we have better options. Thank God Moe will not be on next year's team.
September 4, 200620 yr Yeah that 1st inning wasn't entirely Moehler's fault. His career numbers might be sh*t but this is a what have you done for me lately type team and lately Moe has been pitching well out of the bullpen. He deserved the shot. Let's leave the "Joe G" threads until after the game. It's the 2nd inning for crying out loud.
September 4, 200620 yr His career is 1125 IP 1315 H not 100 IP and 200 hits But ya point taken. He isn't a great pitcher, but it was obvious from his last start that Nolasco needed some rest for whatever reason. Petit(pitched yesterday) and Pinto(17 walks in 12 innings would have you bitching up a storm) haven't really be successful yet either...I don't like Joe, but I'd rather go with the veteran in this situation. Try to ride the hot handfor now. If he can keep it where it is for the next few innings I still like the fish's chances

Of course you would rather Garcia or Pinto start. YOU'RE ALL ABOUT THE MINOR LEAGUES... and who cares about career stats?... You dont thrust a rookie who hasnt made any starts all season(in the bigs) into a HUGE start in September then again, you like to complain about everything

September 4, 200620 yr I don't like Joe at all, but you can't really second guess this move. The fish easily could have and should have gotten through the first without allowing any runs. When the defense falls apart like this in an inning, it always hurts. I don't know what makes you think Adam Bostick would have been a great alternative.

Some people just need to understand that Brian Moehler does not have major league stuff. I wish you could see that. When you start a minor league pitcher like Brian Moehler against major league hitters then it is almost impossible to win games.....we don't have the offense to score 10 runs everytime he starts. When there are 25 games left, you can't throw games away. When Nolasco was scratched, that is exactly what we did- we threw this game away.

For being "almost impossible to win" it's pretty damn impressive that he has 7 wins this year... and it is a 4 run lead against a pitcher that has a 5+ ERA. This game isn't over yet dood

September 4, 200620 yr Sadly it's Moehler's defense who is f***ing this game up for him. Lazy Lazy Lazy.

Yeah winning 7 games is a "fluke". Nice edit to try to save face.
September 4, 200620 yr Author I'm not going to argue with people who think its all about wins. Pitching stats are much more complex. Anybody who thinks Brian Moehler at this point in his career is a major league pitcher is just flat wrong. This guy gives up more hits than almost any starter in baseball every season. He has been lucky to still collect a paycheck for the past 5 years.
September 4, 200620 yr Brian Moehler - not a major league pitcher in 1995. Adam Bostick - not a major league pitcher in 2006 I think we need to worry more about making Enrique Gonzalez look "awesome" right now

Perhaps Ricky really needed this day off physically. RELAX. FFS do I need to call 911 over to your house?

September 4, 200620 yr Author Ok ok...Im wrong....just makes me mad that there is 25 games to play and we throw away games. Sorry guys.
September 4, 200620 yr Ok ok...Im wrong....just makes me mad that there is 25 games to play and we throw away games. Sorry guys. Do you watch 9 innings of each game? I recommend it. It's quite amazing. We are in the 4th right now. Let's not go around saying we threw anything away.
