September 4, 200620 yr i blame that HR on the defense. olivo should've interfered lol... THAT was on Moehler
September 4, 200620 yr I blame the walks on Olivo because he didnt bring his glove up high enough for it to be a strike.
September 4, 200620 yr I blame the walks on Olivo because he didnt bring his glove up high enough for it to be a strike. it's where the ball crosses the plate, Holly

September 4, 200620 yr also, after watching the playback of that HR 100 times in the past minute, i think i saw hanley blow really hard in the direction in the ball to guide it directly to the bat.
September 4, 200620 yr Brian Moehler.....we have the deepest minor league talent in baseball and you start Brian Moehler 2 games out of the playoffs. We have Petit, Pinto, Bostick, Nolasco....anybody but this loser. His good pitching out of the pen was just plain luck. His career stats are about 100 IP, 200 hits allowed.....worst call ever. do you look at career stats? yusmeiro petit's career era is 8.24. twist things as you may, moehler's career era is not 8.24. bostick? he's never pitched an inning in the majors...and you want him to start a game down the stretch? . quit bringing up these minor leaguers as possibilites...tyler, bostick...whats your obsession with them? if they deserved to be up here, they would be. Admin beinfest knows a hell of alot more than you do. nolasco? last i checked the reason for this start was to give him a rest....so, starting him would be pretty pointless, no? this "question girardi" schtick is tired...give it a rest.

September 4, 200620 yr Too bad Uggla biffed that throw or this start could have been a different story for Moe.. nice of him to settle down to an extent after that. And WMM, man you sound stupid... LOL. Definitely one of my least favorite posters on this board.

September 4, 200620 yr i find it funny that girardi's decision to start moehler actually turned out to be an excellent one. if you stick a young guy like pinto or even nolasco, who knows how they would respond to the lackadasical and sloppy defense the marlins played in the first couple of innings. moehler had a rough start but settled down and kept the game within reach....a big STFU for you girardi-bashers.
September 4, 200620 yr moehler had a rough start but settled down and kept the game within reach....a big STFU for you girardi-bashers. well thats not right.... I was in favor of this move, and Im not exactly on Joe's bandwagon but yea, if the defense is awake in the first inning, Moehler's numbers would have been a lot better
September 4, 200620 yr Not only did we win the game, but how could you question the move? He's been great lately out of the 'pen, and has started games for us in the past, so common sense says that he gets the start. Wow. Some of you just can't stop finding things to bash.
September 4, 200620 yr And that's why freakin threads like this should not be started after the second inning of the game. What is the point? So much senseless bitching been going on while something amazing is happening. Obviously something is being done right the way we are playing.
September 4, 200620 yr Wow. Some of you just can't stop finding things to bash. Its sad... I feel sorry for people like that.
September 4, 200620 yr his late work from the pen made Moe the best option today. dont mistake "best option" for "good option."
September 4, 200620 yr Anyone who remembers the "Logan Kensing as starter" experiment in 2004 appreciates that it's probably better to go with a vet who has been pitching decent as a spot starter instead of someone making his ML debut who isn't ready yet. I didn't have a big problem with it, and hopefully Ricky got the rest he needed and will be ready to go for his next start.
