October 10, 200619 yr As noted by my sig, IMO Cabs will be at 1st soon enough...but thats just my opinion. Miggy is following almost directly in the same zig zag pattern of positions as Albert Pujols did. And it will be complete if Cabs ever does, indeed, make the leap to 1B.
October 10, 200619 yr You have no chance of seeing Sanchez as our starter at first next season unless something incredible happens. I'm still depressed we traded that guy who plays first for the Padres instead of that guy who plays first for the Isotopes. lol I'm not! Adrian Gonzalez had 2 horrible seasons for Texas before his coming of age season. I am sure that him being a San Diego native helped his confidence http://www.baseball-reference.com/g/gonzaad01.shtml He totaled a whopping 192 at-bats combined in those "two horrible seasons" until he became a successful every day player. Jason Stokes has yet to step foot in the clubhouse at Dolphins Stadium. How about this, you keep Stokes, I'll keep Gonzalez. We'll see who wins in the end. Sure you say that now. Too bad every scout thought Jason Stokes had more upside. You know more than scouts and GMs? :mischief2 You have no chance of seeing Sanchez as our starter at first next season unless something incredible happens. At the time, you make that trade 10 times out of 10. If we had hindsight, would we have taken Hermida over Kazmir and Francoeur, or would we have even come near Jeff Allison? Come on. That's hardly the worst of Beinfestball's blunders. Do you guys forget that whole situation all together? The Rangers would have taken Stokes or Gonzalez, the Marlins sent Gonzalez. The Rangers actually wanted Stokes more. Everyone wanted Stokes because Stokes was better!! Stokes was injury-prone and Gonzalez was younger.
October 10, 200619 yr Stokes was injury-prone and Gonzalez was younger. Adrian was all over 4 months younger
October 10, 200619 yr Nolasco and a lower-level prospect for Dukes. Get it done. dukes is 100% ready to be in the ML next year?
October 10, 200619 yr Will Sanchez's inability to play anything resembling adequete defense at any position relegate him to a super sub type? Not stating an opinion, merely asking a question. At UM, he hit OK and defense was his achilles hell. He played a lot of 3B as a freshman, but scatter arm betrayed him. He later played some 1B. Mysteriously, he was suspended during his last year at UM. Although details were never released, rumor said it was either academics or chemicals.
