I just switched from Verizon to Cingular and Cingular SUCKS

Featured Replies

I just switched from Verizon to Cingular because I wanted the cool new LG CU500 phone where I could watch live TV since that is a lot cooler than the stupid VCAST videos, it has the MP3 player, and it's quadband international which is important to me -- all this on top of people i've talked to who said Cingular was a good service was enough for me to make the switch.

Well I bought the phone and switched 2 days ago and it's been a nightmare. Easily 50% of the calls that I receive go STRAIGHT TO VOICEMAIL, I call Cingular tech support and nothing they said was able to fix this, I just got the run around. Then sometimes when someone calls me they'll immediately get a busy signal, WTF? Other times i'll try and make a call and there is just total silence for easily 30 seconds before the call actually goes through.

So then I decide to go onto www.howardforums.com (a big cellphone forum, kinda like MB.com) and see if there are any solutions, etc. and I find countless other Cingular customers having similar problems. This is a load of crap, I never had any problems with Verizon and it was reliable 100% of the time. The ONLY good thing about Cingular is their 30 day return policy and 30 day contract cancellation policy... needless to say I will be doing just that tomorrow and going back to Verizon - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

If you're currently a Verizon customer who is thinking of switching to Cingular... DON'T!

Ive had Cingular for 10 years... Love them.. Never had a problem.. Guess you got one of the Lemos, its all good everyone has their preferences..

Wow, sorry to hear that. But I have 'never' had that problem with Cingular. Maybe it's the area you live.

I actually just switched from Verizon to Cingular about 2 weeks ago. I loved Verizon and its service. Verizon was by far the best cellular network around. I switched to Cingular for monetary reasons. ALL my friends have Cingular and I had to switch cause I was always going over my minutes. I had Verizon for 6 years and If all things were equal money wise I never wouldve switched. Cingular service :thumbdown

Ive been a cingular customer for about a year now, and Ive never had problems with them... and yeah, that new LG phone kicks ass!

I've had that problem many a time.

I was an old ATT wireless customer who was forced to switch over after the buyout...I'm just counting the days until the contract expires.

I've only had billing problems with Cingular. They keep adding someone else's bill into mine.

I have Cingular also, no problems at all. Reason why I got it also was because the majority of the people I speak to have Cingular.
