December 19, 200619 yr Thought it might be nice to have one thread for the Bowl Games. 12/19 8:00 PM on The Duece At Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego Poinsetta Bowl- Northern Illinois vs TCU TCU is currently -12 on Bodog The total is 47.5 Trends Northern Illinois is 4-7 against the spread TCU is 8-3 ATS TCU is 9-1 on grass Anyone have any thoughts/leans on this game? December 19, 200619 yr Good Idea... I like that we now have one thread for bowl games.. I like TCU -12 and the over... Not sure if Im going to take both but if I take only one I feel stronger with the over 47.5 although TCU may be able to shut down the Huskie offense... They have a great run D Still early
December 19, 200619 yr NIU has burnt me alot this year, but with that new QB they have been a much better team. It all depends on whether Wolfe can get it going tonight. I like the over, and this point Im leaning to NIU with the points
December 19, 200619 yr Author Ok All the money was goin on the under so I teased NIU and the over all the way Im getting almost even money and getting NIU +20 over 40.
December 19, 200619 yr Ok All the money was goin on the under so I teased NIU and the over all the way Im getting almost even money and getting NIU +20 over 40. :mischief2 Im ALL OVER THAT!
December 20, 200619 yr I'm going with TCU -13. I really don't see this game being close at all. TCU is loaded with talent and in my opinion will show how much better they are than NIU. Wolfe is going to be shutdown because of TCU having a great deffensive line.
December 20, 200619 yr Author Over for me A very quik score but a blocked PAT. Thats the kind of start we needed. I would just love it if NIU can just keep it close.
December 20, 200619 yr i guess the garrett wolfe is a great running back talks can be put aside for a while.
December 20, 200619 yr Didnt have computer acess during the game Don, but that just sucked! NIU couldnt put the damn ball in the endzone! Not a good start to bowl season, many ups and downs so we'll get them tonight
December 21, 200619 yr Author Kill me. That must have been painful to watch. Werent you in the stands? jesus. Ok....here's tonights action. Las Vegas Bowl BYU vs Oregon Sam Boyd Stadium- Las Vegas, Nevada 8:00 on ESPN BYU is -3 and the total is 62 (yes 62). - The BYU Cougars and the Oregon Ducks will both be gunning for a victory on December 21 when they meet at Sam Boyd Stadium in the Las Vegas Bowl. Oddsmakers currently have the Cougars listed as 3-point favorites versus the Ducks, while the game's total is sitting at 62. John Beck fired his third TD pass of the game to Jonny Harline as the Cougars came back to defeat the Utah Utes 33-31 last time out. BYU failed to cover the 10.5-point spread and the 64 points sailed OVER the posted total of 55. Beck threw four TD passes and completed 28-of-44 for 374 yards in the win, while Jonny Harline caught three TD passes and racked up 118 yards off seven catches. Rival Oregon State blocked a field-goal attempt with 20 seconds remaining to beat Oregon 30-28 last time out. The 58 points scored went OVER the posted total of 50.5. Brady Leaf threw for 274 yards and a touchdown in that Ducks loss, and was intercepted once. Jonathan Stewart ran for 94 yards and three scores in the defeat. Team records: BYU: 10-2 SU, 9-3 ATS Oregon: 7-5 SU, 4-6-1 ATS BYU most recently: When playing in December are 2-6 When playing on turf are 5-5 After being outgained are 4-6 When playing outside the conference are 3-7 Oregon most recently: When playing in December are 4-4-1 When playing on turf are 6-4 After outgaining opponent are 5-5 When playing outside the conference are 7-3 A few trends to consider: BYU is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games The total has gone OVER in 14 of BYU's last 18 games BYU is 7-2 ATS in its last 9 games Oregon is 17-7 SU in its last 24 games Oregon is 2-4 SU in its last 6 games Post your thoughts Its early but right now I love BYU laying 3.
December 21, 200619 yr The O/U is very tricky, thats why I am staying away from that... I see a 38-21 finish or maybe a bit higher, the O/U may come really close hitting the spot and I can stand that... Gives me a f***ing heart attack.. Thats why Im laying 3 with BYU, close in the first half but then BYU pulls away and wins by 10+...
December 22, 200619 yr Author I got in before the line moved to -3.5 :thumbup Go BYU That worked out well. :thumbup Ok so Im 1-1 so far in the Bowl games.
