Well, he seems to be in control of things more than we would like to admit. Otherwise, there would have been a "new private party" at the negotiations by now.

who sez that won't be the case in the near future? Loria is not exactly the most popular owner in baseball amongst his peers and his godfather Bud "Light" isn't gonna be hanging around that much longer. Loria really is not as affluent an owner as baseball would like in S Fl. How much longer will baseball owners be happy with supporting his art collection? I believe the stadium will be the beginning of the end of the Loria Era with the Marlins. If he doesn't start spending on the franchise, The Team will be passed on to someone who can and will spend the money to make this a solid, successfull franchise for years to come

In the history of baseball, no owner has been kicked out simply because they did not like him. This is a group of 30 exclusive members. While there may be disagreements between them, they see their interests tying closer within that small group rather any one outside of it. And besides any action that they'd have to do to Loria (or the Marlins or the city) to replace him would harm them in effect.

If what you say is true rferry I guess Schottzie must have inherited the Reds when good ole Marge passed away!

BTW I don't expect many of you to understand my comment. Maybe your parents can translate for you kidz

Perhaps you may want to understand what Schott did. She was suspended twice and threatened of a 3rd. Meanwhile Schott was under pressure among members of her own ownership group to sell the team.

What does any of this have to do with Loria, who has never been suspended or maintains good relations with the majority of his ownership group?

this year the deal need to be make .beause will take four year to built to be ready for 2010

2007 + 4 = 2011 :thumbup

Safeco Field = 2 Years, 4 months

Chase Field = 2 years, 4.5 months

Reliant Stadium = 2 years, 6 months

Minute Maid = 2 Years, 7 Months

University of Phoenix Stadium = 3 years, 4 months

Miller Park = 4 years, 6 months. Construction began in late October of 1996 and The originally scheduled April 1999 opening was delayed because of financing problems, finally opened for 2001 season. Also had a construction accident that also delayed a little longer.

So, just becuase the stadium will have a retractable roof, doesn't mean it will take 4 years to build... Unless you screw up your financing and are careless.

Very high probability of this happening on the Banana Republic. I say 4+ years for sure
