Crap.....I have lived in both Chicago and now Cleveland and this is the most snow I have seen in one day in my life......I have shoveld the driveway 4 times allready today and the snow level is almost 3/4 the way up to my door allready....the roads are all craped out and even all the colleges are cancelled...( first time since 9/11) ... It seems like were due for even another foot of snow tommorow...

Hope all you Northern guys are doing allright too and be carefull out there.....any interesting stories so far from the Blizzard of 2007

The ice storm from two years ago was worse.

But, then again, it's also going to snow around here in Columbus UNTIL Monday.

here's something i don't get. during hurricane season, the national media makes it seem like the areas getting hit are far away and make it a much bigger deal, like it's the end of the world, while in blizzards, it looks more like a local story that isn't really too much of a big deal and everyone will survive. can someone answer that question for me please? thank you.

but seriously, blizzards aren't fun. stay safe up there.

Having lived through Francis, Jeanne, etc. and two blizzards...hurricanes are worse because even with meticulous planning, you're losing power, perhaps even for weeks on end. Blizzards are destructive, deadly and power can be lost, but in a hurricane, it's going out for sure...and when power is out, there are myriad concerns for the very young and the very old.

The local news makes it look like "OMGSCARY!" but people live through it every year. It's not a big deal. I guarantee you, as bad as I've got it right now, it's 10 times worse in Wisconsin and those people don't even flinch.

hmmm...its 18 here and we've alrady had a changeover from snow to sleet...and from the looks of it, it changed back to snow but now its nothing here in Southern CT. Will keep you posted (praying for now classes tomorrow, but since my class is at 7:55pm, it'll probably happen)

just remember...at least your not in upstate NY

it is HORRIBLE here...20 degrees, ice pellets, and schools not canceled WTF!?!?

20 degrees isn't too bad.

ICE PELLATES! ICE!!!

just got the word...NIGHT CLASSES CANCELLED! W00T

Near 11 feet by the great lakesin the past week or so! We got about 15 inches over night. ANother 6 to 10 today.

A few pictures -- just got home from work.

My car this morning

Looking out my backdoor

Damn dude I can't believe they made you go to work. It looks like a snow plow drove past your car and buried it! I do not miss living in New Jersey one bit.

It actually wasnt bad in boston today snow wise. There were about 3 inches of snow by 9am, but then it changed to rain and made everything much messier than if it had stayed snow. Oh well

I shoveled about about six inches of snow off my walkway last night. Then it rained. Apparently, where I shoveled, it filled up like a gully then froze on the top. So when I woke up, I was like "Great. Looks like I'll need the rock salt." But then I stepped out and the ice broke and water came pouring out.

So, I got to work yesterday and there were 2 inches of ice blocking the out door that I had to chip away. Spent 45 minutes just trying to break away enough to open the door.
