I'm believing in the impossible dream. All I can say is thank you Jacques for making hockey matter in the late stage of the season again for Florida. Anything can happen! Just look at Edmonton last year.
March 31, 200718 yr false hope is better than no hope, right? florida musts if they were to make the playoffs: panthers go 4-0-0 in the remaining four games. montreal goes 1-2-1 at BEST in their remaining four games. toronto goes 2-3 at BEST in their remaining five games. carolina goes 2-2 at BEST in their remaining four games. likely? not at all. the best news is if florida goes 4-0, that would mean they beat carolina twice, knocking them out of our way. montreal plays buffalo tonight, boston, NYR and toronto. that schedule doesn't look particularly difficult after buffalo, but the rangers and leafs should be hungry. toronto plays pittsburgh tonight, NYR, Philly, NYI and Montreal next week. Again, doesn't look particularly difficult after tonight for the Leafs. I think Florida's fate will be decided by tomorrow. Toronto and Montreal HAVE to lose tonight while Florida MUST beat Carolina tomorrow. If that happens, they could be as close as two points by tomorrow night. If they're not two out by tomorrow, chances are it's over.

Next year they can easily make the playoffs as long as they don't make another inexplicably terrible trade. The only thing that worries me for the future is the big question mark at goalie, hopefully Auld will be the Auld of 05/06 next year.

I guess, but I really don't care who they put in front of the net as long as they're servicable, which Auld was last year, but then he sucked before being killed by Belfour.

The last time they were in the playoffs was April 2000! The earliest they could make it is April 2008 (next season) 8 years between playoffs. BTW Joaquim Noah is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo UGLY.
April 2, 200718 yr Eric Staal is a diver. He should be fined for such a disgrace to the game. That's just my opinion. I don't want divers on my team or on any team. If my team is going to take a penalty, at least let it be a legitimately stupid move and not a dive.
April 2, 200718 yr Eric Staal, the NHL equivalent of Vlade Divac. It was a fun season. I've never seen so many Florida hockey fans pissed off like they were at the BAC last night. Throwing water bottles on the ice after the loss. Frankly, I don't blame them the way that game was taken from them. Should be a fun offseason and I expect good things out of the Cats next year!
