With Encarnacion being benched, could this be a sign that he, NOT Derrek Lee, will be traded in the off-season?

DOn't think so. Enc is signed through next year. Lee goes to arbitration and will probably get whatever figure he asks for.....my guess is that we try to deal Lee and move Conine (who is signed) to 1st and put Cabs back in left.

Wild Card stop dreaming about keeping high salary players......If the Marlins are thinking on keeping one of the 5-6 six mil range player then I would prefer castillo.I just love the combo of Pierre and Castillo in the top of the lineup.Big ups to Derreck for delivering in the clutch and I could see him becoming a more complete player but maybe not with the Fish.In reality I would love to see this team keep every one next year but we all know that we're going to lose some players and seriusly right now is not the right time to start talking about players futures.

i really want 2 keep castillo no matter what-i think we should keep him-even if it hurts us a bit bc pierre and castillo are just awesome!

 

QUESTION:The Marlins are going to the WS and i'm sure that every player on the team is glad that thier on this team-so do you think that high salary players like Pudge that we wont be able to keep bc we dont have enough money will stay bc they love the team?and bc they want to go to the WS again?And rem. Pudge has a home her so it would be very easy for him to stay-so do you think that it will have any effect on pudge wanting to stay here-even though we have Castro and Redmond who can do the job very well instead of him?is there any hope that Pudge will want to stay bc of this?????

I hope that he will want to stay and take less money and stay on our team so we can have a big bat after the number 1 and 2 batters set the table for him-and i hope we can keep castillo also!

whatever happens i will still be very proud of them for what they have accomplished this year!

lol-3 million-i dont think we can get him for that little amout but if he can go for a little lower than usual like maybe 5 million than we shoudl take him-and i know that he really wants 2 b a marlin!so hopefully he will take less money and i hope everything will work out!

if we win the world series then i think he would want to stay for a repeat. I think it'll be cheaper to give hime a multi year deal...2yr/15mil??? who knows but i can already see pudge in a news conference over the summer saying..

I hope we keep Castillo above all else too. With him and JP on base, anybody that puts the ball in play behind them will do well. Having pudge and lee back would be awesome, but we could live with a 3-4-5-6 of Lowell, Cabrera, Conine, Enc.

I love Derrek Lee...he's my favorite non-pitcher on the Marlins...but if it means losing him and Castillo to keep Pudge, then I say we need to jump on that. Pudge is the cog of this team, and if we want to do well next season, Pudge is important.

Anything could happen.....IMO I think Lee will be traded during this off-season but we shall see what will happen.
