July 11, 200719 yr Author why did she just say that? hes deadly close to signing a deal? hopefully this whole broadcast trio or whatever they are lose their jobs
July 11, 200719 yr Author Nah LaRussa is the man, I blame the loss on WAGNER im agreeing with u, but it was also larussias call with wagner as well so it goes back to him its not a real game so blah, but the NL champ will certainly think about this down the road and im sure espn will beat it in the bush within 24 hrs
July 11, 200719 yr Thats ridiculous that she said he was going to be a free agent when hes most likely not going to be.
July 11, 200719 yr Author 1 more tidbit in the 6-7th inning la russa was interviewed in the dugout and said he would put albert anywhere in the field if they needed him
July 11, 200719 yr La russa is an idiot. The only guy that did not hit for the NL Pujols. How do you leave Hudson or Rowand to bat. Pujols shoudve pinch hit for rowand. There is a better chance pujols gets a hit or walks the tying run. If they go to extra soriano could play CF and Pujols LF. Even La russa said he would not hesitate to play pujols at a diff. position I personnaly think he didnt care who got home field advg. B/c his team is not going anywhere. If the Mets, Brewers , or Padres MGR is there he puts Pujols.
July 11, 200719 yr Didn't Ichiro already sign a 5 year extension worth almost 100 million or is that supposed to happen soon? I remember hearing about that. Also, leaving in AARON ROWAND in that situation over Albert Pujols is hilarious. I don't think anyone though Rowand would get a hit.
July 11, 200719 yr "It's the All-Star game. He can do what he wants," Pujols said Tuesday night. "He does whatever he wants. If I wasn't expecting to play, I wouldn't have come up here" "If he wants to get upset, he can get upset," La Russa said. "Whatever he wants to do, he can do. It's America. That wasn't the most important thing tonight." WOAH

LaRussa possibly gave up homefield advantage for the NL to ensure his club's best player doesn't go down. When manager's are forced to make decisions like this, everyone loses.
