July 21, 200718 yr well ive said it all along and weve seen what he can do when hes on...but damn!!! randy messenger has a 1.96 era for the Giants in 46 innings and often pitched two innings at a time....armando has been good besides those 3 very familiar outings but hes expensive and we probably wont have him past this season...think we made a mistake trading messenger???? becuase even when we traded him he had a solid era in the 2's.
July 21, 200718 yr well sorry to say but a 1.96 era in 46 innings and counting is not trash good for Messenger it's still a nice deal for the Marlins with the potential for a bigger upside that hasn't been the case but I would still do this deal again
July 21, 200718 yr That deal has such upside it's crazy. I think it's very likely we see Benitez dealt to Detroit at the deadline, perhaps as part of a bigger package AND he comes back in the offseason. He and his agent have made it overly clear this is the only place he wants to play.

Look at how little we gave up and how much we got in return for Benitez (Afterall, it's not just Benitez, but almost all of his salary). If we trade him, we're not getting much in return.
July 21, 200718 yr Benitez will probably stay here, he has success here more than anywhere else. I still think Messenger is good, though.
