If Fredi gets Fired..........

Featured Replies

Ok bobbob, I did some quick math. Here is what I found:

I did the following:

-Used the 'Technical' Runs Created formula. Seen here

-Took out the Pale Hoses' actual sac bunt, stolen base, and caught stealing totals and replaced them with the AL average in 2005.

-Then did the formula, using the team's actual SH, SB, and CS totals for 2005.

A 2005 ChiSox team managed by an 'average' AL manager:

(1450+435-34+79-123) x (2349 + (.26 x (435-27+79)) + (.52x(32+49+83)) / 5529+435+79+32+49 = 730 Runs

A 2005 ChiSox team managed by Ozzie Guillen:

(1450+435-67+79-123) x (2349 + (.26 x (435-27+79)) + (.52x(53+49+137)) / 5529+435+79+53+49 = 715 Runs

According to my method, Guillen's style of managing cost the ChiSox 15 runs in 2005. That's about 1.5 wins.

:notworthy :notworthy

That's a lot less than the 50 runs you said...

And it's just about even with the revised 20 run figure I said after that.

For the people that say that Fredi doesent speak spanish, I just heard him on Telemundo 51 talking about Josh Johnson IN SPANISH

Who said that? He does spanish interviews all the time and was part of the Spanish Town Hall meeting back at FanFest.

you can't fire the manager after every season.

Not according to the Steinbrenner School of Team Running.

you can't fire the manager after every season.

If your manager isn't putting you in a position to win games, you have no choice.

so we're gonna fire the manager at the end of '05, '06, and '07? and when 3 of the 5 starters are essentially out for the year? and of the remaining 2, one was the shell of what used to be dontrelle willis and the other has zero composure and creates button incidents.

i dislike fredi and think he's an idiot as much as anyone. but he can't be fired at least until sometime during/after 2009 if they underachieve, barring some horrible incident (like telling the guy who signs your checks to shut the f up). but fredi's a good boy.
