Miami Heat open season Nov. 1 against rival Detroit Pistons

Featured Replies

MIAMI --The Miami Heat open the 2007-08 season at home Nov. 1 against the Detroit Pistons, marking the first of 33 nationally televised games - the maximum allowed by league rules - for the club.Other schedule highlights include matchups with defending champion San Antonio (on the road Nov. 7, in Miami on Jan. 24), three meetings with last season's playoff opponent Chicago Bulls (home Jan. 16 and April 8, away Feb. 14), and a Jan. 21 visit by LeBron James and the reigning Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Heat visit Cleveland on Christmas Day, part of a league tripleheader that includes Phoenix visiting the Los Angeles Lakers and Seattle at Portland. It's the fourth straight year Miami was selected to play in a marquee Christmas matchup.

Shaquille O'Neal will reunite with former teammate Kobe Bryant and the Lakers twice in February, first at home on Feb. 10 and on the road Feb. 28.

In an odd twist, the Heat will visit Houston on Feb. 21 - exactly one year after star Miami guard Dwyane Wade dislocated his shoulder there in a collision with the Rockets' Shane Battier.

Former Miami coach and longtime Heat assistant Stan Van Gundy returns to South Florida Dec. 28, when his Orlando Magic make the first of two trips to play their in-state rival. The first Heat-Magic matchup is Nov. 24 in Orlando.

Miami's longest road trip is six games from Dec. 2-10; its longest homestand is a seven-game run from Jan. 16-29, which will become the second-longest in club history.

The regular season starts Oct. 30 and ends April 16.

Miami isnt taking dick back this year.

The Spurs can keep dick around them then. I am sure Tony Parker and Manu won't mind.

I know this is supposed to just turn into a smack thread.... but he could just throw a picture of Pudge and Urbina up. And its true, the Heat arent winning it all this year and they arent exactly all that exciting to watch
