Ryan Jorgensen

Sorry if this is in the wrong area but his fans are on this board :)

Reds purchased the contract of catcher Ryan Jorgensen from Triple-A Louisville.

The defensive-minded Jorgensen will serve as Javier Valentin's backup while David Ross is sidelined.

Props to him, I saw this on rotoworld and knew some boardies here would be excited. It was certainly nice of him to spend time here while he was with the organization.

congrats to jorg, hopefully he hits one out.

he just hit homer no. 1 today vs `the cubs

Thats great he deserves it, he's a really nice guy.

Jorg actually should see a decent amount of PT the rest of the way, as the Reds traded Chad Moeller and David Ross is out for quite a while with a concussion, plus their other catcher, Valentin, has a .215 career average and .570 OPS against left handed pitching. So if Jorg can do what he did tonight when he gets the starts against left handed pitching, he's in decent shape.

Jorg went 2 for 4 with a single and 2 run homer, and Conine went 2 for 5 with a 3 run homer, so :thumbup right Admin? I hope Conine comes back, he's very close to 2,000 hits but looks like he will fall just short of getting there this year. Anyways, all in all, the Reds did what they do best, screw the Cubs over late in the season, beating them 11-9, and will go for the sweep tomorrow. Between the offense and the 2 hour rain delay (game just ended here and it's almost midnight), that's as wild a game as I've seen all year.
