Last weekend, the Marlins took some wind out of the Phillies' sails. They'll look to play spoiler again as they begin a three-game set on Friday in Philadelphia.

The Phillies came into Dolphin Stadium a week ago, having just swept four games from the New York Mets to pull within two games of the division leader. But Florida took two of three from Philadelphia, dropping the Phillies back to four games out of first place. The Marlins are now 8-7 against Philadelphia this season.

 

The Marlins will try to get back on the winning track after being swept in a three-game series at Washington, while the Phillies are coming off a tough loss at Atlanta.

 

Byung-Hyun Kim will look to win his third straight decision as he takes the mound for Florida. The right-hander was victorious against the Phillies in his last outing, which was his first start since rejoining the Marlins. Kim is 7-3 with a 4.61 ERA as a Marlin this season.

 

Philadelphia will call on J.D. Durbin, who allowed seven runs to the Marlins without recording an out in his last start. The right-hander hasn't lost consecutive starts all season.

 

Pitching matchup

FLA: RHP Byung-Hyun Kim (8-6, 5.54 ERA)

For his second straight time, Kim gets to face the Phillies. Now he goes for his second straight win against the division rival. On Sept. 1 at Dolphin Stadium, the right-hander gave up four runs on 10 hits over five innings. He logged 95 pitches, struck out four and walked one. It was Kim's first start since Aug. 14, when he was with Arizona taking on the Marlins. Kim is now 1-1 with two no-decisions while taking on Philadelphia in his career.

 

PHI: RHP J.D. Durbin (6-4, 6.27 ERA)

Of all the teams Durbin would like to see again, the Marlins have to be at the bottom of the list. Florida tattooed the right-hander in his last outing, sending seven batters to the plate against him and bringing all seven around to score. Durbin, who left without recording an out and saw his ERA rise from 5.14 to 6.27 in the defeat, had been 6-1 in his previous seven starts.

 

Player to watch

Greg Dobbs has four hits in six at-bats against Kim this season.
