I'm just gonna begin this with the fact that the Jets are among my LEAST favorite teams in the NFL, but you'll be hardpressed to find a team that's in position to succeed like the Jets are.

Fact is, they improved THE MOST IMPORTANT part of the team so far, in the O-Line, a left-side-line of Brick, Faneca and Mangold has the potential to be among the tops in the league. Just gonna point out, how'd that work out for Minnesota and their lack of a QB, because let's face facts here, Kellen Clemens is as good as Tarvaris Jackson. While Thomas Jones obviously isn't as good as Adrian Peterson, he IS arguably as good as Chester Taylor is.

As for that "Pennington is a good QB when healthy and with a good O-Line" line, the same is true of EVERY QB IN THE NFL.

However, this still doesn't mean the Jets are elite, or even very good yet, they have POTENTIAL to be a playoff wild card team if some things break their way. They still have to outplay TEN, JAX, possibly SD(Only because the west always plays out weird it seems), CLE, and maybe a few others I'm not thinking of. That being said, if they can keep adding, in 2-3 years, they can probably make it towards the top of the AFC again, barring anything unforeseen...

I may hate the Jets, but I really am a realist

Cap hell?

Tannebaum is a capologist and these contracts were made smart and put into terms where it wont forbid us in the future to go out and sign a big time talent.

This has just been a wicked offseason. Hopefully we add a couple more pieces via FA.

Jets signed FB Tony Richardson to a 1 year deal.

He is 36 years old, but made the pro bowl last year for the Vikings

Before anyone asks why the jets are signing "old players"...

the average age of the 4 free agents they signed prior to richardson is 29 and they are the 4th youngest team in the NFL

just read the sig baby.. :)

We have young players with very good veterans. Going into this season it's looking more and more like ground attack (may add Chatman, added Richardson) and us playing tough defense. This draft, just get me an inside linebacker who is tough as hell and makes plays ala Harris and a guy who can stretch the field and give Clemens a deep threat.

F U sir.

This year, when Santana leads us to the promise land, we'll see who is talking. :notworthy

Ok Starbrownies, I'll bite on this one, let's do a little wager...

If the Mets fail to make the World Series, note I said WORLD SERIES (Im not even gonna go into winning it)...

You have to put "I have to ask for permission from PWG to talk about baseball" in your sig...

If they do, I'll put "I have to ask for permission from Starbrownies to talk about baseball" in MY sig...

Loser wears it for a year? :mis2

Obviously we're not actually going to ask for permission, it'll just be that little reminder...

That's overblown. We have 2 senior citizens but our core is mostly in their prime and not even in their prime yet.

And to the other guy forget that sig wager with just a comment. Whoever loses has to rock some type of custom 400*90 sig.

Hey, if I can show the respect to at least use your SN/Title, the least you could do is reciprocate... kthx? :fyou

Also, you got yourself a deal :deal

Don't get mad at me, it's your sig that's always filled with misinformation, not mine.

sorry PWG. :thumbup

I was reading various newspapers this morning.

Eagles and Cardinals are taking about a trade for Admin Fitzgerald. However it seems like the cards have a real high asking price. Fitzgerald is due about 16 million this year and next year, and will not reschedule his contract. We'll see what happens.

This is also right from newsday "Technically, Pace?s deal has $12.5 million in guarantees (including an $11 million signing bonus). It was widely reported as $22 million in guarantees."

Jets signed former Dolphins RB Jesse Chapman to a 1 year deal.

I'm not really sure why they did this because they already have Jones and Washington.

It's Jesse Chatman.....He's a solid player, was playing well with the Dolphins until he got hurt. I agree, I don't really see a need in NY for him, but as the Dolphins proved last year, you can never have enough RB's (or you'll be left with Patrick Cobbs and Samkon Gado). I take this as a sign that the Dolphins really do expect Ricky to be a part of the plans. I, for one, hope this is true. He could be the best bargain in football as long as he's on the field (i know that is a big question mark).

UPDATE for Tuesday, March 11

The Arizona Cardinals have reportedly reached an agreement on a contract extension with star wide receiver Admin Fitzgerald. According to reports, the new contract will be at 4 years and around $40 million, where the guaranteed money will be more evenly spread out.

The Miami Dolphins have signed yet another former Cowboy player; this time safety and special teams standout Keith Davis. The terms have not been released yet.
