Everyone in the AFC is getting stronger except the Patsies. Karma is a bitch, man!

Yeah, theyre gonna be awful this year

I wouldnt go that far, they are still a good team, but last year was their peak, they have no place to go but down.

UPDATE:

The New Orleans Saints have signed former Patriot CB Randall Gay to a 4 year contract.

The Atlanta Falcons have finally gotten someone they targeted by signing former Chargers RB Michael Turner to a 6 year, $34 million contract to become the starting running back and key piece to their rebuilding process.

Great pick up for Atlanta. I wonder if they take Matt Ryan at #3 (assuming the dolphins dont take him)?

The first 5-6 picks of the draft are totally up in the air right now. I've hear Jake Long, Chris Long, Matt Ryan, and Glen Dorsey all mentioned as the possible top draft pick. Then you have names like Sedrick Ellis and McFadden all mentioned as possible 2-5 picks. I am sure as the draft gets closer, one or two other names will pop up. The first ten picks of the draft will be very entertaining.

no way in hell do the fins take ryan, especially after picking up mccown...which means ryan should fall to atlanta and keep them in the basement for another 4-5 years

McCown, are you serious? He is terrible. I hope the dolphins wouldnt pass up the top qb in the draft because they signed a raiders cast off who had a qb rating in the 60's.

John Clayton said the dolphins are considering Ryan as well as Jake Long.

mccown was brought in to the back up...which means we will draft another qb...but it sure as hell wont be matt ryan...my guess is brohm or henne in the 2nd round...

matt ryan is the latest ESPN, QB of the moment that will turn out to have an average at best career...

Buffalo radio stations reporting the Bills have a tentative agreement with Bryant Johnson. They are also attempting to extend Lee Evans and, possibly, Angelo Crowell.

Heck of an offseason so far. They can now go BPA in the draft, which should allow them to add either a CB like McKelvin, if he falls, or a pass rushing DE like Harvey.

I love all of these developments. Now I just hope we hire another strength and condition coach to prevent the amount of injuries we had last season.

Sorry dolphin fans I got some more bad news for you....

Jets sign Calvin Pace to a 6 year 42 mil deal

Jets also sign Damion Woody to a 5 year 25.5 million dollar deal

How is that bad news, you guys just made a guy with one decent season and no pro bowls one of the highest paid linebackers in the history of the NFL. 22 million guaranteed? are you kidding me?

An expected response. Dolphin fans were all excited about him when it looked like the dolphins were going to sign him on saturday for 20 million guaranteed. Now that the jets get him for just 2 more million its a bad move? I will say, it is a small gamble because he has only had one good season. However, his one good season was last year and happened to be when arizona switched to the 3-4, which is the same defense the jets run. He is also 27 years old and entering his prime.

The dolphins gave 20 million guarenteed to Joey Porter, who was 30 and coming of a 55 tackle season. The jets gave 2 more million to a 27 year old coming off a 98 tackle season.

Bash the move all you want, but Bill Parcells wanted him badly and offered him 20 million guaranteed.

A. i cant think of one dolphins fan who thought signing porter for that much was a good idea by any stretch of the imagination

B. if parcells didnt want to match or beat the offer for him, then i trust his judgement in doing so

Porter was our best defensive player the second half of the year. Dont forget he was recovering from offseason surgery, so yes he was overpaid, but he is also proven pass rusher, which is something we lacked outside of JT.

How is the jets cap situation? They just dished out 20mil to jenkins, 22 to pace, another 20 to faneca, 15 to woody, and who knows how much the 7th pick of the draft is going to want. They also failed to get rid to Dewayne Robertson (w/e his name is, the DT), who has a major salary. What I dont understand is why you guys are trying to win now, with noodle-arm pennington or unproven clemens as ure QB, mediocre talent at RB, no good pass rushers, and the only great player in your secondary is Rhodes, (Revis was pretty good this year).

The Jenkins deal is actually only 9.5, not the 20 that was originally reported. Woody got 11 guaranteed. We'll have to wait until the actual pace figures come out to see how much he is truely getting.

The jets had about 30-33 million in cap room going into free agency. They released a few people last week which gave them an extra 3 million or so in cap space. Roberston is scheduled to be paid 12 million next season so he is surely gone. They will continue to try and trade him (like they almost did today) or release him come june first.

The average age of the players they signed is 29, so the players will be around for 4-5 years. The jets addressed their four biggest holes. The have a good RB, he finished 9th in the league in rushing behind a terrible line, and should have a much much better season behind a rebuilt line. Pennington and Clemens will battle it out to see who is the starter. They should still be able to add two more good players with the 6th and 37th picks in the draft. The jets are already much better off than last season.

ok...i cant think of 1 dolphins fan who knows what he/she is talking about that thought it was a good move...and the jets, with all their recent moves have put themselves in cap hell with nothing at qb...i mean maybe clemens will be alright...but pennington just cant hack it...and while i think that jones is good at rb...teams will just stack the box against the jets and make noodle arm or clemens beat em...and id take my chances with that...as the fins and bills at least have improved their defense...

Cap hell? I dont think so. I like how the jets signed all these players, and they are going to cap hell. They will shed 8 million once Robertson is traded or cut. Pennington's contract is done at the end of the season. I dont know the exact amount but its not cheap. The cap is also increasing every year.

Fins improved their defense and the jets didnt? The dolphins added a bunch of castoffs. How many started the whole season last year?

The jets add Jenkins, a 3 time pro bowler, and Pace who is coming off a 98 tackle 6.5 sack season. Its alot easier to argue that the jets improved their defense, than it is to say that about the dolphins.

Clemens will be the wild card this offseason. He should finally have a good line in front of him, so we'll be able to see what he can do. Pennington has proven to be a good qb when he is healty and has a good oline (see 2002, 2004 and 2006). I am not worried about the QB position. I would be worried if Cade McCown and Josh Beck were my qbs...
