FSN Florida, the exclusive regional television rightsholder for the Florida Marlins, enters its 11th season partnered with the team. The regional sports network will produce 150 regular season games during the 2008 MLB season, with 100 games airing statewide on FSN Florida and 50 games distributed as special presentations on sister network, Sun Sports. This season, 75 games will be produced in HD and made available via participating cable and satellite systems in Florida.

John Sulser was hired as FSN Florida's new game producer following his stint as pre-game producer last season.

Veteran director, Jim Holly, celebrates his 20th year directing live sports and returns for his 11th season as FSN Florida's director for Marlins telecasts

FSN Florida hired Tim Fanguy, former event producer for the New Orleans Hornets, as pre-game producer for Marlins on Deck

 

More in-game inter-active enhancements (such as micing players/coaches and incorporating live in-game interviews into game telecasts)

The pre-game show, Marlins on Deck, will have a fresh look and will be produced from a fixed location in the stadium

 

Tommy Hutton returns for his 12th season to provide color commentary and game analysis alongside Rich Waltz who returns for his fourth season to call the play-by-play action. Marlins on Deck, hosted by Craig Minervini, is FSN Florida's 30-minute pre-game show and airs prior to each game telecast. Minervini also hosts the popular Inside the Marlins series which offers fans exceptional, behind-the-scenes access to Marlins players and coaches.

 

For the sixth consecutive season, FSN Florida will offer Spanish language game audio coverage via SAP for all Marlins' home games. Raul Striker, Jr. returns as the Marlins play-by-play SAP announcer and is joined by Cookie Rojas, color analyst SAP announcer.

seems kinda ridiculous that only half of the games are in hi-def...people here in mass would burn NESN to the ground if they only did half of the sox games in hi-def

Can't wait to catch some HD games, haven't gotten my "40 Sony Bravia yet but I'll catch then on my dad's 46".

 

Got HD through Comcast Digital Cable and hooked up through Component so it still looks very good in HD Mode.

It's ironic that because I am out of state I can probably watch more Marlins games in HD than you guys that live in Florida. I have DirecTV and since they offer just about every RSN in HD now I will be able to see opposing teams broadcasts of Marlins games as well as FSN Florida/Sun Sports HD. Of course this all depends on whether or not the team we are playing against is airing said game in HD. But the possibility is there.

does anyone know if comcast is going to be carrying the marlins games on SUN this year? Last year I believe if you had Comcast (or comcast in my area at least) that none of the marlins SUN broadcasts were carried.

yeah they will be carrying them, i got every single SUN game last year. I have Comcast myself.

 

all black marlins hat, what they mean is that Tommy analyzes each play and Rojas does the same thing in Spanish on the homes games. When you hit the SAP button on your TV remote you can hear him and Raul Striker announcing the game.

awesome. It was pretty annoying last year to find out a sizable portion of marlins games were on TV for half of florida but not the other half. I couldn't get any of those SUN games on Comcast on the gulf coast.
