May 23, 200818 yr See poll . Who was the star starting pitcher this series? Fun/stupid/pointless poll.
May 23, 200818 yr Nolasco: 7 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K Miller: 7 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K My vote is for Miller. 1 less earned run, 1 less walk, and 2 more K's I'll take both, though :thumbup
May 23, 200818 yr Nolasco because Miller allowed quite a few BBs but that's splitting hairs. Great outing for both these kids. Beinfest is just so awesome as a GM, damn does he know talent!

May 23, 200818 yr Miller was better. 2 more Ks, 1 less BB, and no Runs. Plus, his curveball was KILLER today, just rolling off the table. He threw it for balls and got the batters to whiff at it. He threw it for strikes and froze the batters for 4 Ks looking. He was painting the corners with a felt-tip pen. Tonight we saw the Miller that all the scouts were talking about. We saw the Miller we traded for.
May 23, 200818 yr I voted Nolasco, but really...two minutes later I want to change it to Miller. They both pitched amazing games. I'm really glad Bob Melvin made the dumb move of allowing Haren to hit in the 7th inning with a runner out. Miller was completely out of gas and I was so worried that an Eric Byrnes was going to ruin his outing with one pitch hit out.

May 23, 200818 yr More K's, less, walks, and no runs allowed. It's Miller. I voted for Nolasco. First, he was going up against Webb and the hype of the 9-0 start. Second, even though Miller pitched a gem the umpires strike zone was much bigger in his start. This is not a knock on Miller at all. Just an observation. The ump was giving him that outside corner and he took advantage of it.
