In addition, I heard Berardino saying that Vlad would like to come and play here, but that the Players Union wouldn't allow Vlad to give to much of a discount because he is the highest ranked 2004 free agent out there. And that the Marlins won't be able to pay top dollars for it.
October 27, 200323 yr We cant allow more than 1 member of the infield leave. Youll Break up the Defense and DP combo if you have 2 or more leave. I can see Jeff Playing 1st, and Dlee being Gone, but you still need that Agonz and Luis Combo. If Lowell Leaves then Cabs can play 3rd, but Lowell is a fan favorite. Me personally, as much as i love my team and I think good D saves games (Those 2 DPs during Game 6 were very VERY valuable)... I think Dlee and Encarnacion will leave. I dont want them to leave, cause i have high expectations for both of them even. I think Dlee still hasnt shown his full potential and also Encarnacion. But i will choose Luis over Dlee or Encarnacion any day. And i like Juanky's Idea with Vladimir Guerrero

They are no good to me and they won't do that cuz Vlad will pretend Donald is Brad Penny and race at him with a bat. I only see three possible markets landing Vlad, due in part to all the different characteristics I have heard about him and what I have noticed about him in the times I have seen him: Montreal, Baltimore, and Miami. As much as he might not extremely enjoy Montreal, he is the kind of guy that will give them a chance. If the Orioles sign someone else first (ala maybe a Gary Sheffield?) then that should free up my purchasing of a Guerrero 27 jersey (yes, I will break my rule). So come on Gary, help the old club.

It's been rumored that those numbers have been tossed around, but whether that's just from the Marlins or if it's actually between both parties, no way to be sure yet. My thinking is they'll have to part with 3 of these big-ticket players: Encarnacion Lee Castillo Lowell Pudge Urbina If they get really creative and/or players take hometown discounts, maybe that number could be 2 instead of 3.
