here's my case against Cantu. He hit 2 of his HRs in a game that was for all intents and purposes meaningless (a 12-3 shalacking against) and he committed errors that almost cost the team a game the next night.

Cody, Tucker, Nelson, and Uggla are much better candidates than Cantu imo

but I went with Hanley. Welcome back to Earth, Hanley!

btw, I feel that (and in most cases it will be on there anyway) the regining Fish of the Week should be on the list to defend his "title" the following week, even if he should have a poor week. Just a thought for the future.

Why is Cantu's batting average listed as higher than his OBP?

I voted for Hanley. Jorge would have probably been my second choice with Olsen being the third. I can't see Tucker even getting a vote, he only had one start. It was a good debut, but when you look at it he went 5 innings and its fish of the week, not fish of the day.

Ok, let's break this down.

Uggla had the best stats of the week (.455 /.536/.909).

Hanley broke out of his slump, and seems to be back.

Cody broke US out of our slump and singlehandedly won one of the most exciting games in my memory.

So that has to be the three in contention (Not sure why Cantu is getting more votes than Uggla).

I need more time to think about this.

Why is Cantu's batting average listed as higher than his OBP?

That's what the stats for the past week show.

I believe this is because sac-flies count against OBP while they don't count against batting average.

Yep, that's it. He had two sac flies, and no walks or HBP to counteract it.

So his BA ended up 11/27 and his OBP ended up 11/(27+2).
