October 27, 200322 yr Hi all Kris here from the UK - only recently got into baseball in a big way - we saw the Giants play earlier in the year whilst on holiday in San Francisco. I tend to support Florida team - Magic, Jaguars - so it only seemed right to give me support to the Marlins for what it's worth from over here. The last few weeks have been great although the late nights have been devastating on regular life. Most of the Marlins games have been on Channel 5 over here at 1 and 2 in the morning - finishing around 4 or 5 - i stayed awake most of the time and was celebrating on my own this weekend. I am asking if someone could do me a favour - i would really like one of the Grey ragtime Champions T-Shirts. The postage they are charging to the UK is $40 which in all honesty is a disgrace - shipping shouldn't cost anymore than $10. So would someone buy a t-shirt for me and send it over to the UK - I will pay you the money in advance - via Paypal or I can send cash (preferably Paypal as it's quicker) - I'd really appreciate this. thanks all kris

October 29, 200322 yr Author Ok i'm going to make a real a** of myself now - what does it mean by Runs Batted In - is it that the batter just hits the ball? If you guys help me out here I may go into some of the rules of British Cricket - which really is a minefield of crazy rules - but not a disimilar sport to Basball.

October 29, 200322 yr Ok i'm going to make a real a** of myself now - what does it mean by Runs Batted In - is it that the batter just hits the ball? If you guys help me out here I may go into some of the rules of British Cricket - which really is a minefield of crazy rules - but not a disimilar sport to Basball. It's when a batter causes a runner to score. That could be by getting a hit when there's a runner on base and he runs all the way around to home; or if he hits a sacrifice fly or a sacrifice bunt with a runner on third who scores; or he grounds out to an infielder and the runner on third scores as a result; or if a batter is hit by a pitch or walked (base on balls) with the bases loaded and a run scores as a result; or if he hits a home run thereby batting himself in. There may be more, but that's the basics. An RBI is not scored when a hitter hits into a double play causing a run to score, or on an error that would have prevented the run from scoring had it not occured. These are all my own words, and not necessarily the same as the official rules of MLB. 100 RBIs in a season is roughly the equivalent of hitting .300 as a hallmark. Or 30 home runs. Again, that's just my opinion.
October 29, 200322 yr Hey will you guys ever forgive David Beckham up there in the UK for going to Spain.

October 29, 200322 yr Author Hey will you guys ever forgive David Beckham up there in the UK for going to Spain. lol - classic - yes! Generally people in the UK had gotten fed up with Becks and his talentless wife - even Man Utd fans concede that it was for the better that he left as the media machine that surrounded him was becoming bigger than the football side. They got a whole load of money for him and 100k/week wages off the books - which to my mind was a good deal especially when you consider the quality of the Man Utd side at the moment. The England national team will also benefit a great deal - our Captain will gain vast experience in a European league and hopefully lead us to victory in Europe next year. Just to share with you guys my UK Football (soccer) team are Norwich City (The Canaries) www.canaries.co.uk - 3rd in Division One and doing very well. ON THE BALL CITY!! Kris

Kris Go Iwan! Iwan Roberts is the man - wasn't keen when he first arrived - but now he is a God and a Carrow Road legend - great with his head and the perfect veteran player. How do you know about iwan? Spurs are a good team...managerial problems at the moment but always have lots of potential and play a good game. kris
October 29, 200322 yr I follow the Welsh national team. Roberts isn't a key part of the team any more, but yeah. BTW, I hear the Spurs are talking to Sir Mark Hughes about the manager position.
October 31, 200322 yr Author Hughes won't take that job until after the Euro Championships and let's face it - all he is doing is waiting for the Man Utd job to come up. Anyway - you have my size, you have the type - would any of you be good enough to order that T-Shirt for me please? thanks kris
October 31, 200322 yr my team over there is chelsea ... got into them while living in london for a few months loved the leeds chant from a few years back "beckham, beckham, beckham - does she take it in the arse?!" ... or quite simply "posh spice takes it in the arse" .... the chants that led to his throwing the "v" at the crowd ... good stuff and cricket has rules aside from showing up and drinking yourself into a coma?
