June 22, 200818 yr Author I know this isn't a popular opinion but Gregg has saved more games than he has lost for us he has hit a rough patch but I believe he will return to form I say we stick with him as closer for a while... if he struggle past the AS break I say we make a change to help our playoff run later this year I'm sticking behind Gregg for now Gregg has saved more games than he has lost for us He's our closer a closer should not put you on the edge of your seat with a 3 run lead in the 9th with a average to low batting team. He has no excuses unless there is some problem with his eyes.
June 22, 200818 yr Go Fish has a point. I hate it when gregg comes in because it always puts me at the edge of my seat. He just isn't good closer material and hopefully he puts it together or we get rid of him in a trade.

It's not really all that hard to save more games than you lose...the same can be said for EVERY OTHER CLOSER in the big leagues, really. His save % is under 80. Not exactly what I'd want to see, from the "closer." So...on top of the fact that he's not dominant, it's becoming apparent more and more every outing, that the "bend but don't break" stuff isn't working either. With a 1 run lead in the 9th, I have NO confidence in Gregg...that just shouldn't be, and I know I'm not the only one.
