July 8, 200817 yr Does any one else notice as soon as the mets win a series or win a few everyone on BBT or SC thinks oh here they come their out of their slump watch out. It drives me crazy. The marlins could win 6 or 7 in a row and thats a fluke.

The marlins could win 6 or 7 in a row and thats a fluke. it's annoying. watch the mets drop another two series and then it's 'are the mets done?' yet again. espn needs to change their name to nespn or something, they fawn all over the ny and boston teams so much. the mets are a .500 team, nothing more. they have no momentum at all and still have major issues in the clubhouse and the front office that won't be fixed in time for a 2008 playoff appearance.

You mean like this morning on SC-"METS MOMENTUM". It is almost like the team between the Phils and everyone else is a blank line in the standings. Has anyone besides us noticed what an outstanding streak Nolasco has been on. You would think there might be some respect for that. Put him on the Mutts and he is the next "great one".
July 8, 200817 yr The Mutts are a total media darling. I have a clown Dan Hicken up here on JVille Sports Radio that is a Mutts fan. Weeks ago he did not even talk baseball, now he talking division championship. A lot of Mutts fans coming out of the woodwork on 790 AM as well. They will choke guaranteed.

Great one theyd be talking cy young if he was on NY or BOS. Also cold you imagine if last nights play with hanely happend to bos or either NY team oh it be headling SC.
July 8, 200817 yr ZZZZZZZZZZ. Mets have been playing better as of lately, that's all. They have played like a mediocre team but have some of the best talents in the NL. I just pray to god that we sign Barry Lamar, he would be so perfect in LF.

I just pray to god that we sign Barry Lamar, he would be so perfect in LF. Till his knees balk, or the fact that he'll play at most like 60% of the remaining games... oh, and he'll be such a positive influence in an already fractured clubhouse... plus, the best thing Bonds could do at this point is be a number 2 hitter because his eye his so good, but the rest of his body is deteriorating. He'd hit like 15 HRs and score probably an equal amount of runs as he drives in, but if you guys think Barry Bonds is the answer (Unless there is a Barry Lamarr out there that I'm missing  ) go for it, because the only rationale excuse to use him is for a playoff run. He's the hitting version of Pedro Martinez at this point
July 8, 200817 yr Church on the DL again. Way to mismanage that concussion situation Omar you moron. That's called being desperate.
July 8, 200817 yr So wait, no Barry Bonds one of the most feared hitters of all time (including last year) doesn't make anyone on his team better? Imagine adding Bonds with wright, reyes, beltran, etc he makes them all better because they get more pitches to hit. Bonds has a nearly .500 OBP and when he hits he hits with power. The defense won't be a huge deal because you can move beltran more to left because chavez is basically the best if not one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball.
July 8, 200817 yr It's funny I was watching ESPN today and every time they debated whether the Mets had a chance to Win the east the response was always something like "oh yeah they philies and the Braves have issues..." It's like the Marlins don't exist lol.
July 8, 200817 yr The Mets sign Barry Bonds and I walk. Seriously, he's the biggest piece of sh*t to walk the earth.

And then what happens when Bonds goes on the DL, I really think the Mets just DON'T GET throwing OLD, INJURY PRONE players, no matter how feared at one time, on the field DOES NOT solve any problems... Moises Alou, one of the best pure hitters of all time, Pedro is one of the best SPs of all time, how's he been this year? Luis Castillo, Trot Nixon's already gone on the DL... El Duque has... Sure, Bonds'll help, for a while, till his clubhouse cancer affects the team, and then he can't play in the day game after the night game, or any infinite number of things that can and will and do happen to Barry Bonds at this point, you guys wanna pay him to join the rest of the NYDL All Stars... go for it

The option is to just find someone that can stay healthy out there... for cripe's sake, a So Taguchi would be fine at this point, but being the Mets you guys have to "reach for the stars" Heck, Jacque Effin Jones!

Look for any number of 4th outfielders on a good team, guys that don't play everyday... seriously, anybody without crutches or filing for AARP at this point should be on your radar

July 8, 200817 yr Winn may be acquirable, I think that there are other teams that may want him more and can offer more than you guys can

Paging Gabe Kapler. Weak outfield paging Gabe Kapler.
July 9, 200817 yr Kapler killed santana in his first shea start. Kapler is killing a lot of guys this year, OPSing above .800. He's be a great addition for any team needing a 3rd outfielder this year. The Brew Crew obviously doesn't need him (they do enjoy having him on the bench though).
July 9, 200817 yr espn is kissing up to the mets again on pti...they are declaring them the favorites and pretty much writing off the marlins.
