July 26, 200818 yr Yup, he's gonna be something special. Yep. Gotta love what Volstad gives us: an innings eating pitcher with good control that will keep us in the game every time; such a valuable asset to have. My only concern is because he gives up so many ground balls is that our below average infield defense might cost him at times. I would love to see Fredi go with Alfredo at third and Cantu at first when Volstad pitches.

The sample sizes should count a bit more, as well. Lets not divide the season into 2, entirely, either.

Well nolasco was hurt for most of last year so the nolasco second half sample size really only comes from 2006, where he was pretty solid.

As someone else said on the other thread, Uggla of '06 and '07 basically had a similar .OPS.

Lucky or not... if he keeps up with "luck" Ill be happy Whatever it takes to win!
July 27, 200818 yr all you guys need to relax, Volstad pitched great today and he didnt even have his good stuff, that just shows what kinda pitcher he is, even on his bad days he only gives up 2 or 3 runs. Ricky nolasco has been great for us and i aint about to let you guys rag on him for 1 bad outing and olsen has been good. Come on baby i rotation is looking good. Oh yeah one more thing what if hurk pitches real good does he still get sent back down for anibal!
