Future CF????

Featured Replies

Thats a good question beacuse he aint a CF but i belive he can play CF as well but i heard the only problem for Dallas in the outfield is the lights and its not gonna get easier if he comes up and play CF here where the lights are stronger then in AAA.

We have a future gold glove in CF (may not be on the Marlins next year)

Can he play LF or RF :shifty

:p

I wish we could keep him til Maybin is ready i don't think that will happen next year he is really good defensivly

next season's starting Centerfielder will be de aza. ross probably won't be here and maybin might not be ready.

Raynor should be a candidate, at least.

Ross is more likely (IMO) than De Aza. I wish only the best for De Aza, but they guy just seems cursed and/or way too fragile.

Again, this is all assuming Maybin isn't ready. I assume he'll at least get some time up here in September, and they can evaluate him further then.

I hope De Aza is our centerfielder next year I liked the way he plays and has had some bad luck

I would love to see Raynor get a shot, he is putting up better numbers than Maybin, but the marlins gave up so much to get Maybin that there is no way they let him rot away in the minors or on the bench, Maybin will be the starting center fielder come April 1st, 2009 excluding any injury

I loved De Aza when he played, but the reliability factor is at an all time low wit him. Maybin is going to be the starter because of the reasons i stated above

Mcpherson will be our LF or 3b.

Cantu will be our 3b or 1b

Willingham will be our 1b or LF

Ross will be our CF.

I don't see it that way.

Maybin is still only what...21 years old? If he's not ready yet, he's not ready yet.

If he needs another year in the minors, or another half year, he should stay there. There's no need to rush him.

of couse that's how we all WANT it to happen, but the irrational fans are going to go crazy because we got rid of Cabrera and Willis for Maybin and Miller and both of these guys are still in the minors? There will be so much pressure on Beinfest to bring them up, he will feel obligated to have to bring up Maybin, and he will be the guy in center field come opening day next year

I have confidence...Miller will be up next year. He's already shown flashes of his potential this year; he has a good chance next year. Great stuff.

yes Miller's got good stuff, but he is extremely erratic in his throwing motion, his ball can go anywhere at any time. another question then arises, who is out of the rotation to let Miller back in next year? Olsen? Nolasco?

I think next year, we'll see Nolasco, JJ, Volstad, Sanchez, and Miller in the rotation, leaving Olsen out. Nothing against Olsen, but as far as stuff / potential, he has the worst of the group, imo.

Then in the pen, guys like Pinto and Lindstrom will stay. Kensing will get a spot for middle relief again. And we add Vanden Hurk & Tucker.

Then again...it's just a prediction, so it doesn't mean much. Just the way I see it.

EDIT: Add Tankersley to the bullpen.

Vanden Hurk? Really? here is my prediction for next years starting rotation

JJ

Anibal Sanchez

Scott Olsen

Ricky Nolasco

Chris Volstad

I am sorry, but i see Nolasco as "expendable" in the marlins eyes, they have built him to his highest point, and will trade him in the offseason for either some catching help, let him go, or trade him to get some more prospects
