He adds nothing. That's kinda harsh but I guess you're entitled to your opinion. This year he's worse than average in allowing PB + WP and he's absolutely horrible in allowing stolen bases. He has allowed 1.00 SB per game whjich is the worst in MLB among all catchers with 500+ innings that are not named Ramon Hernadez.

You remember, Mark Hendrickson as our Opening Day pitcher followed by Rick Vanden Hurk followed by Andrew Miller...

Perhaps you forget what our starting rotation looked like for the first few months of the year. You remember, Mark Hendrickson as our Opening Day pitcher followed by Rick Vanden Hurk followed by Andrew Miller... Correct. There were alot of times he looked like an octopus back there trying to catch some of those guys. Can you imagine Baker in those circumstances?? It's another case at being able to make the numbers say what you want them to say. You can't look at the overall numbers of this year for him. There just aren't many catchers in the majors that wouldn't have put up bad numbers the first couple months of this season catching those guys. Treanor isn't nearly as bad defensively as Pollo tries to make him out to be. But he's always been anti-Treanor, so if nothing else, Pollo is consistent in his hatred. Paulie is doing fine right now with us. It will be interesting to see him used in different ways. But what will be most beneficial is if he can teach Baker how to be a catcher. He may or may not be able to perform the way he once did, but he still knows how to do it. And he is a teacher (runs an intructional camp in the off season in Az.) Of course, that's if Baker's problem is his mechanics behind the plate and not his inablitity to become a catcher.

Nevermind: They kept the arbitration offer rule when they revamped free agent compensation. We shouldn't offer LoDuca arbitration (due 80% of his 2008 salary - the multimillion dollar one he signed with the Nats). Goodbye. No draft picks.
