August 23, 200817 yr I think acquiring an eighteen year old to be your catcher of the future has disaster written all over it if the price is a major league hitter who will conceivably hit 30 homeruns this season. And yes I know the Marlins drafted a high school catcher this summer so I'm not ignoring that the front office thinks otherwise. I'll be happy to be wrong on all counts.

August 23, 200817 yr Don't we already have a young catcher named Skipworth? Why have two guys you have to wait several years for? More likely, the front office will try to trade one of its starters to get an intermediate catcher that will stay until Skipworth is ready.
