I agree, Lina! And hey, I'd like a statue of myself! LOL He has the money, so why not? Anyways, maybe it was a gift from his wife or something. Don't judge if you don't know for sure.

Couldn't have said it better myself...

Is it $5.99? how many pages are there?

I'm gonna get it if I see it in newsstands or a borders.

Ya know, I like Pudge, but there's just something about having a statue of yourself...

hahahahaha

i almost forgot about that one!

don't forget about his son, ivan jr., or his DAUGHTER, ivanna... :lol There is no Ivan Junior, His son's name is Derrek. The two girls are Amanda and Ivanna. I do not think he is full of himself... I actually think he is the most humble one in that group after Mike Lowell. To testify for that matter, he actually thanks God for every one of his accomplishments! :o wheres dontrelle in the group of humble players? He's probably the most humble down to earth guy on the team

And i remember watching "This week in Baseball" a while ago and pudge saying that he bought the statue for himself so he could look back at it and reflect all the accomplisments and great things he's done in his career

:o wheres dontrelle in the group of humble players? He's probably the most humble down to earth guy on the team

Yes Dontrelle is a humble person, but he is also 21 years old and hasn't had time to be fully spoiled by baseball yet. Lowell and Pudge are both veterans who have been in this game for years and for them to still be this humble is an amazing thing.

I have no doubts that 5 or 10 years from now, Dontrelle Willis will still be one of the most humble and great guys on the team, but that is for time to tell.

And Miri, the Pudge article is really great. You have to read it!! :mischief2

Thank you all for posting about the Marlins SI edition...I will have to track it down out here in Arizona. More than likely, of course, it will be the Josh Beckett one, which is fine with me. I just wish for us Arizonans that they would have made a special one with Brad Penny on the cover, since he was a Diamondbacks prospect before becoming a Marlin and because he still has many fans out here. I will have to check the local grocery stores, unless I have one of my co-workers pick it up at Wal-Mart for me since I am still car-less.

i just got it

it is amazing and i have only looked through it and read a few of the articles so far. muy awesome...

pudge's article was great and i am going to read McKeon's next

:lol :lol :lol

80 pages

So damn good I bought 3

Oh yeah: Pudge's kid is named Ivan Derrick but they call him Derrick and his daugthers are Ivanna something(they don't call her Ivanna) and Amanda

Pudge is a great player but to be honest with you there is something about naming your son and daughter after you and having a statue of yourself

i really dont care though. pudge still kicks arse

and if he takes that pay cut i wil deffinately have all the respect in the world for him

i think that Lowell is the most humble and selfless person on the team IMO

and if he takes that pay cut i wil deffinately have all the respect in the world for him

IF

If Pudge leaves I will consider him a complete a**hole for the rest of his career.

But, he won't leave.

He is a little self-concieded!

Juanpy is up there as well

Yeah, Juan Pierre is also one of the few that doesnt let fame get to his head.

real down to earth guy along with the others mentioned in this thread, he's also serious as all hell too. First time i saw him really smile was when we clinched the Wild Card.

Juanpy is up there as well I agree...both Mike and Juan P. are very humble, and I also think Brad is too. I've seen him on interviews and have never seen him act like a bigshot.

Who cares what he names his kids. And who cares about that statue. s***, I'd like a statue of myself. He has a statue b/c like someone mentioned, so he can look back at all his accomplishments.

he has a statue because he has a big ego

that being said, if he resigns for a decent price, that ego is great

LOL All men have egos. ::ducks from the flying tomatoes::

My ego and I are friends

All women have egos as well

*welcomes tomatoes, I haven't eaten in a while (oranges would be nicer though)*

First time i saw him really smile was when we clinched the Wild Card.

uhhh . . . you forgot about his home run and his walkoff hits!

true, i forgot about the homerun

their were a FEW more incidents, but maybe 2 or 3

Juanpy smiles all the time, he is just all business on the field.
