I never went to a game at the Arena. By the time I arrived in Florida, the Panthers were already in Broward, and the Heat had moved to the AAA down the street. I was wondering how anybody who went and saw events there feels about its destruction.

Well, I'm not particuarly sad to see it go, but the Miami Arena did serve it's purpose. It hosted the Panthers Stanley Cup run and all of those Heat-Knicks playoff games. It wasn't a bad place to watch a game, but it was outdated the minute it opened. Unfortunately, that is what people will remember most about the Arena and not the games that were played there. Stil, it's presence allowed for South Florida to get two new major league teams and for that I am grateful.

Any1 know what they are planning to do with the land?

The place was pretty crappy but I saw some pretty good games there. Can't believe Miami Arena and the Orange Bowl no longer exist.

Still have fond memories of that place. 1996 stanley cup run was probably my second favorite sporting event (behind the first ever Marlin game in history) I've attended. The Miami Arena was damn loud and had an awesome feel in it during a big game.

 

That area was so ghetto though back then, I remember one time we parked in one of those 10 dollar parking lots only to find a bum sleeping in our car. Yea..that smell lasted awhile. :lol
