I loved the original movie and I knew this was in no way going to be better than it (other than in special effects), but I at least expected to be entertained. There is no action, no character development, no acting, no script..... I do give them props for the genius idea they came up with!!! When aliens come to exterminate us all we have to do is cry and they will change their mind!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!! :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy This movie is so bad it deserves to be watched... definitely going on my worst movies list right next to The Happening and Battlefield Earth.

You have to know its bad.
December 27, 200817 yr yeah looks awful. I don't know why Hollywood has this penchant for trying to re-do classics. I can't imagine any other actors than the original TDTESS. Michael Rennie & Patricia Neal were outstanding. And, who could forget Aunt Bea?
December 28, 200817 yr Author Every review I read said that the acting was horrendous across the board. Yep, I mean you would expect it from Keanu but everyone else is just as bad if not worse than him....Having loved the first film, I went in with extremely low expectations to this one, I mean I just expected to eat some popcorn and look at some nice special effects, and be treated to at least some level of entertainment, but no, they had to pretend like this was a "DEEP" movie that would make you think or something (i.e. The Happening), which is what makes it so bad, it tries to be like the first one and it fails so miserably that it's not even funny. Seriously why couldn't they just make something like War of the Worlds, just some cool special effects thrown in with a chessey script that would at least offer some kind of entertainment.

February 3, 200917 yr I literally got up and left half way through the movie. Horrible acting and very boring. Two thumbs down.
