March 12, 200917 yr Hah! My last ticket was for doing just that. I made a right turn on a red light and got the ticket for doing that. Apparently, there was a sign saying "No turn on red" but I never saw it (it was 3AM!). I still believe I deserved a warning for that, not a ticket. A-hole cop. Should have fought that in court. Can't be held accountable for an unreadable sign.
March 12, 200917 yr When I was first driving I got a ticket for backing up into a car (even though the other car was parked illegally behind me and I couldn't see because the weather was awful). That one wasn't that expensive, but it was embarrassing. A few months later I got a speeding ticket on the Sawgrass Expressway, although many other cars were going much faster than me. That one was like $180, and this was more than 5 years ago. Since then I have not had any other problems.
March 12, 200917 yr I just got a ticket about a month ago for running a light that was yellow going into red (you know what I mean). Of course, I know this is illegal and that I would have generally deserved the ticket, but the part that really irked me was the fact that another car behind me had also gone through the light, obviously when the light had already been red. Ugh. I also got a speeding ticket on Bird Road a few years ago for going EXACTLY 6 miles over the speed limit (for those who don't know, you can only get a warning for going 1-5 mph over the limit in a non-school or construction zone)
March 13, 200917 yr Making so many trips up north to Gainesville over the past couple years, I've come to realize that when a pack of cars speed by a trooper, the trooper jumps out and puts his lights on. The first car to "move out of its way" and pulls to the shoulder gets a nice ticket. Seriously, no matter which car moves out of the way to the shoulder, the trooper pulls right behind em. Even if that car wasn't speeding, or if they weren't even right in front of the trooper.
March 13, 200917 yr Damn! I was just driving in rural Vermont and I got nailed for 68 in a 50 zone by a state trooper. Well, for those of you who have seen the movie SuperTroopers (its set in Vermont), my son starts reciting bits from the movie ("Do you know how fast you were going, meow?"" Littering and..., littering and...?") while the guy is on the radio. He sees me laughing and gets a little po'd and gives me the ticket and a stern talking to. Next day my friend gets pulled over in the same spot doing 78 and gets a ticket but then she calls a friend of hers in law enforcement who calls the trooper. He calls my friend tells her never to speed in his district again and tells her to tear up the ticket. Balls! Thats just not fair!

I threatened to take the fine out of his allowance but he threatened to tell his mom I was endangering him. He's a smart little f*#&er.
