Traffic tickets

Featured Replies

Well, I've gotten 4 tickets within a 2 week period. The first two were by Hialeah Police for "not using a turning signal to pass a car", and the second was a seatbelt ticket. Then I got a ticket for not making a complete stop at a blinking red arrow, and another seat belt ticket by a Miami Lakes cop. But all were dropped because my cousin's a cop (fluxuation's brother) and a very good friend of my parents is a Hialeah cop. I usually don't get tickets if I do get pulled over because of the PBA badge on the tag, but some cops just don't care. Luckily, the ones that still gave me tickets dropped them once they spoke to my cousin, and my parents friend.

Been pulled over around 25 times.. Only 2 tickets (both in Miami Lakes) and rest were in Hialeah, but my cousin is a officer for Hialeah so when i talk to the cops and tell them his my cousin they tell me to have a nice day and leave.

i got a ticket for going 30 miles over the speed limit on i75. i won myself a court date and a $225 fine. fun times

I got pulled over last month.. here's how the convo went...

cop: license, registration, and proof of insurance.

*I hand over the things he asked for*

cop: your tag is expired. gotta give you a ticket for that

me: dont know if it will help, but my dad is a retired hialeah police officer.

cop: he is?

me: yeah.. ralph gracia.

*cop looks at my license, see's my last name, hands back all my stuff"

cop: alright, get out of here.

Mines is almost always the same just "my cousin works for hialeah PD"

cop: yeah? who is he?

me: blank blank he works in sector 5

cop: ok call him..

cop to my cousin: just making sure he was not lying..

lol I wonder if people make sh*t up like they have relatives working for their local PD and get away with it :shifty

Don't have the privlige of driving yet but i really don't need to worry about tickets in weston the cops are lazy as hell here.

My mom was doing 80 in a 45 area and a squad car was there with the speed gun and just let us go.

They get vicious the days of the month when they give tickets to earn extra money.

Hialeah/Miami Lakes police, along with Miami Springs would have to be the worst. They'll pull you over for anything. Ugh.

Kendall police don't really care, thankfully. Most of the time they'll pull me over for speeding but let me go.

Correction, Sweetwater cops are the worst.

On tickets, I got one for turning where you can't turn on red. It was 1AM and there was no one around but the cop. Plus it was ridiculously dark and I didn't see the "no-turn on red" sign. My lawyer says that ticket doesn't exist anymore.

Hah! My last ticket was for doing just that. I made a right turn on a red light and got the ticket for doing that. Apparently, there was a sign saying "No turn on red" but I never saw it (it was 3AM!). I still believe I deserved a warning for that, not a ticket. A-hole cop.

It was an emergency. :angel_not

:whistle

I got 394 violations in a span of 3 months.

Reason behind this

3 months ago I bought a new house, new car, and new Sunpass. I thought I had the Sunpass on auto-replenish, so I kept driving through the tolls. Never really occurred to me to check my bank account since I thought it was being pulled right out and didn't really care about periodical $20 deductions. Turns out I had been passing through the tolls with no funds, and I wasn't getting my violation warnings because the post office messed up my change of address. Last week though I got over 400 letters from Sunpass and the Expressway Authority. I owed $394 in tolls, which I didn't care about paying because I did go through the tolls and did owe it, but 11 of the violations have already gone to court and each one comes with a $200 fine and 3 points on my license.

So yeah, I'm pretty pissed off.

Now I know who to call when I have a 3 am emergency :mis2

I don't get tickets. When I get pulled over, it's either for something stupid or they feel stupid after the pulled me over. Townies pull me over because they're bored. Staties pull me over because I may have been going to fast, but once they see my spotless record, they apologize for pulling me over and tell me not to worry about and. And county sheriffs never pull me over because county sheriff departments rule.

I got two... one of them I managed to get cancelled through connections.. and the most recent one, I'm about to come off probation for. It was only for 15 over. I need to go to driver improvement class though or else it won't be cancelled!

I get pulled over because cops dig redheads. :thumbup

Actually, I was speeding through a residential section and the police officer actually got caught at a light. I pulled over and waited for him to catch up (yes- some think this is stupid but wait until the story ends). He did and was amazed that I actually pulled over. I said that he would have caught me anyway and yes, I was speeding and why not fess up and admit it. He said that he never met anyone who was so honest and let me go with a warning.

Yeah that probably works 90% of the time, I always thought that if I ever get pulled over for speeding or whatever I would just admit I did something wrong and hope it works lol... I have only been pulled over once and that was because it was like 2 am and my car had the dealers paper license plate on my rear window and supposedly the cop couldn't see it, so since I hadn't done anything wrong he just let me go.
