May 13, 200917 yr Jason Taylor is expected to join the Dolphins as early as today. I have confirmed that Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland and agent Gary Wichard have been negotiating since early, early this morning and the sides are very, very close to announcing a deal. The deal is a one-year contract. In negotiating this reunion of the team's All-Time sack leader and the club that drafted him in 1997, Taylor snubbed overtures from a handful of clubs, not the least of which was New England. Taylor's contract is very salary cap friendly. He walked away from an $8.5 million base salary in Washington and told the Dolphins he would play for whatever they wanted to pay him. It is unclear exactly what they will be paying him. That doesn't seem to matter much Taylor. He wanted to return to South Florida and the Dolphins because this is his home. He wanted to finish work and go home to his family. He wanted to sleep in his own bed every night. He didn't want to spend another season in a distant NFL outpost while his family stayed in South Florida -- that was his situation last year after he was traded to Washington. In signing Taylor, the Dolphins add the kind of quarterback pressure they lacked outside of Joey Porter last season.
May 13, 200917 yr He signed a 1.1 million dollar, 1 year contract and we got a 2nd round pick (pat white) and a next year 6th round.... basically for free a big thank you to Dan Snyder and an even bigger thank you to Bill Parcells

May 13, 200917 yr this made me smile. I understand that he isn't the player he used to, but to simply see Jason Taylor in a Dolphins uniform again will make the first game for the Dolphins against the Falcons that much better. Hopefully his first time out on the field he sacks Matt Ryan and yes, we have all thought about how we basically got a 2nd rounder (Pat White) for a 1 year rental. Great job by Parcells and the gang in signing one of my all time favorite players back to where he belongs, and I give Taylor props for taking a discount to come here.
May 13, 200917 yr hopefully he sacks matt ryan injuring him for 4 to 6 games it would certainly make life easier for my carolina panthers. :whistle :whistle :whistle
May 13, 200917 yr Freakin prick Don't be mad because he didn't wanna play for a team with a racist ass logo. :shifty
May 14, 200917 yr Now if only they would trade for Boldin, they would be a championship caliber team...
May 14, 200917 yr Now if only they would trade for Boldin, they would be a championship caliber team... probably would take a 2010 2nd rounder and 2011 second rounder or a future first rounder, those would seem like the only two logical trade possibilities at the moment to get Boldin.
May 14, 200917 yr pats fans up here were dying to get JT...and the second it was confirmed he would be back in miami "he sucks" "what a loser" "have fun on another 1 win miami team" i love pats fans...they wouldnt know a football if bill belicheat took a picture of one

Yeah, Arizona announced a few days before the draft that they would accept a 2nd rounder for Boldin. I doubt making it a 2010 pick instead of a 2009 pick would make a difference. I don't know why nobody has pulled the trigger on this one yet though. That would be a steal.
